From the few I have, Beverly and Ring of Fire seem the best. Plum next. Austins out of the question.

My ROF is new but it seems very good in terms of vase life. It also lasts forever on the bush.

Such artful bouquets, Diane! Exquisite taste in color combinations., the dark purple bouquet is so elegant.

With fewer bushes, I am "beggars can't be choosers," so I end up with I can and the craziest color combos, especially since I love rather vibrant colors.

I did not realize Munstead Wood is goof for the vase. I am just struggling to make mine grow, not in its second season. Very slow starter.

Artist, Munstead looks gorgeous and smells divine, but doesn't last in bouquets. I usually have so many blooms from two plants that I still use her for cutting. But the thorns are not nice. Rouge Royale is my favorite cutting rose with wonderful scent that wafts for a long time, and the blooms hold up well in the vase. They darken almost instantly in a vase, which I like. Young Lycidas gets softer and lighter colors, lasts well, and has the most sublime scent. For light pink, I recommend Evelyn in her pink mode, and Eglantyne. I love Augusta, too, especially when she is a lighter pink. Ascot lasts well, but doesn't have much scent at all. The Prince lasts fairly well and is scented. Julia C lasts well and so does Love Song. Diane

The longest vase life in my garden is Sweet Mademoiselle that lasted 7 days in the vase before falling apart. It is very neon coral but fades into a coral pink that is very agreeable.

the only roses still standing from this after 2-3 days were SM (Coral at top center) and Princess Elise (very hot pink large bloom direct center)

My problem is that I LOVE neon coral....and all vibrant, strong, landscape-friendly colors. Ashamed to admit, but I do. :) I swear I am like an infant with a crib mobile.

I adore those soft, elegant, sophisticated bouquets in pastel beige and light pink colors which I see other people cultivate, but I just can't get myself to grow those because I love to see that "pick-me-up" effect from the kitchen window, where I have a "front row balcony seat."

My favorites in your arrangement, from what I can see in the picture, are Sweet Mademoiselle and the dusty pink to the left. Whatever "grabs me by the collar"...color... first. lol

I hear you! Its only my second rose year and the first colors I really gravitated toward was a creamy blend of light apricots and ivory colors. Then I ping ponged to very dark vivid reds. Then I started seeing the multidimensional oranges like Lady of Shallot and State of Grace that seem to have so many different colors on one bloom. I recently saw Arctic Blue which is such an interesting blend of lavender and cream and yellow. Every time I tell myself a limited color block is my favorite, I pong over in the opposite direction again. There’s so much beauty and variation. Easy to have fun with it

Very true. This is the first season when I am planning for doubles, even a hedge to create the mass of color. It's so easy to want to try out as many of them as possible instead of marrying one color (lol).

LOS and Distant Drum are on the way for that multidimensional look. I love those!

For me, 5 days in a vase is good to go. Instead of mixed blooms, I enjoy a vase full of the same variety. Having said that, here are the few I can count on.

Not all Austins shatter quickly. I’ve had Munstead last four days inside, if I pick them just as they open up. Memorial Day is also long-lived, again from the bud stage. Love Song and PAOK.

I've had Spirit of Freedom last 4 days and Lichfield Angel last 6 days in a vase. I agree, Mustead Wood also lasts pretty long.

Well, I'm outnumbered by all of you who have longer lasting Munstead Wood blooms in the vase than I do. Hmmm. Maybe it's the comparison with made of steel Rouge Royale that makes me think Munstead droops quickly. I love them all with all their weaknesses and beauty. If you can grow peonies, good old Sarah Bernhardt not only adds a lot to bouquets, she's made of steel, too. and outlasts roses. And Evelyn certainly doesn't shatter or dry up quickly. Diane

I think my best cutting rose is Polka, which is really unfortunate because it is a very stingy bloomer for me and an unattractive bush shape besides. It suffers from complete winter dieback every year and seems to struggle with that. It technically is root hardy at least but I think this rose is really meant for a warner zone in order to thrive. Really wish it bloomed more. I'd say I get a good 5 days out of them in the vase. They're so frilly and pretty.

Oh, this was FUN!!! I really enjoyed seeing all of these beautiful blooms. :) :) I can't add to the discussion since I never cut roses to bring inside. Maybe if mine bloomed more, I could part from them for the house. :)
