Comments (41)Edwin, it is even more bright in reality, but my camera refuse to reproduce it. It will be very interesting for me to compare all winter-colored mugos about their color-hues, growth rate and how easy they become gold. A little bit more. Comments (36)Yes garcanad regarding the needles; I had run across comments on an old thread from Aug. 2009 (great information form Ken and Coniferjoy, which kept me from acquiring one --- I did acquire your pinus parviflora "Fukai", Ogon Janome", and another "Fukazumi" to add to my collection in the last two years (the blues of needles gives me that cooling effect and soothing effect -- like your second pic planting bed). I felt my "Go Jin" was too lonely of this cultivar (LOL). Limited space also is curbing my acquisition (but it helps allot from yours and others experiences ---HELP allot more). From what I see of your two pics; I love your garden, striking contrast and a soothing combinations of beds. Actually; because our house face south and west, summer sun (excessive unusual past 10 years of temps.) --- I would suffer the same with "Golden Ghost". If I can find one in a one gallon (#1); I might get to experiment in protected and sheltered (high winds), sun and high winds are other factors that I haven't gotten one. Really appreciate you sharing your pic of it. Cheers, p.s.: Thank you...See MoreDwarf serbian spruce vs birds nest spruce vs mugo pine
Comments (18)Looks fine to me (its probably within 2-3 feet of its “ideal/perfect” spot anyways), plus it looks happy and has room to grow indefinitely (in 15++ years its skirt may bump into the fence or arborvitaes, no big deal, they widen slowly). Weeping white spruce is one of my faves, just wish they grew faster. I like what you have done and are doing with your backyard. Id like to see a pic in 5 years when your solid wall of arborvitae has filled out and with the new stuff going in front of them. A background of “wall o smaragd” for your new bed, how cool is that?! Also, how about some yellow, blue, and red, especially since the plum is going?...See MoreHow Large Is Rootball on Mugo Pine?
Comments (35)He is probably the best specialty conifer nursery in Northern CA. People routinely drive from Sacramento or San Jose to shop there. I agree, he should update his website, but like many small businesses, he uses Facebook much more than rely on his website. When he has a new shipment he posts the entire inventory on Facebook. He also is the best pond retailer (pond materials, fish, etc) around....See Morewestes Zone 9b California SF Bay
