Some conifers of interest.

Some conifers that might interest. First is 18 yr old longleaf pine, roughly 45+ ft tall. Struggling to stay in sun from the big honeylocust's shade to left. Not as attractive a pine as loblolly or white pines, but certainly interesting. Branches get bent and twisted a bit by wet snow, but no serious damage.

Some ridiculously long branches on Japanese larch. Most of the lower branches died and removed, but these 2 persist.

Manchurian fir as usual has some frost-fried shoots from a few days ago, but not all of them! Enough are OK that it should be able to produce a decent top leader. Some previous shoots grew almost 2 ft in a season at haphazard angles, so the rather heavy, clay soil doesn't slow growth down. Unfortunately, progress is mostly a step forward, then a step back. The 2 previous trees can be seen in the background.
