Thank you! I prefer white but my husband thinks it is too stark. Any thoughts on an accent color in stead of the wall color or white? I think black would be too severe.

Do not paint the doors an accent color unless you want the doors to be the focal point in the room. Meaning the place your eye goes first when entering the room

Stick with the white or change all the trim in the room to an off white (not so stark). You already have enough dark around the room with the cabinets. Why do you have just upper cabinets on that buffet wall?

The doors are a feature already. Pick a beautiful red.

@jck910, we chose to incorporate some family antiques into our kitchen. I love the buffet under the cabinets, as well as we use it all the time.

@herbflavor, so tempted to go with a red, but concerned it might draw too much attention to the doors. I do love red!

I would do a nice updated look like dark bronze. Rustoleum has a nice bronze paint color. It’s very dark and has a nice finish. That color will blend in nicely with what you already have and not cause a “break” in that area.
