My exterior house has the blahs. Needs a refresh!
Comments (25)Well the pavers are out of our budget, so we are looking at refinishing the concrete. The painter actually shown us a Faux wood finish for the garage door, but we were uncertain about the look. Still working on the trellis.. The landscaper comes this week to help with the yard....See MoreSuggestions for brick color? Window trim must be white.
Comments (17)I am leaning for navy on the shutters. I have been riding around my town, (with just me and my kids), and it seems most people have black shutters. I like the one above with the off setting blue gray shutters. You rock by the way!!!...See MoreHelp refreshing the exterior of 1957 brick ranch home?
Comments (6)I like both bricks but not together. I would have to paint one of them with a Romabio masonry product. Can the downspouts be re-located to not be so much of a feature? Does your climate require the storm door or can it be eliminated so a new door will be a feature? Put larger new numbers on the wider bit of wall right of the door. With the right landscaping you won't need a wreath or planters. Unless required by law, I wouldn't add railings. However, consider making the area more useful with a larger patio style porch and broad steps. Definitely do not use stones for mulch! They will get hot and will take years to remove if you want to change them. I know from experience; they really dig in, even over landscape cloth. My landscape professor swore by natural colored cypress mulch which deters insects and degrades nicely into the soil over time....See MoreOverwhelmed. Can someone suggest siding/trim colors for my brick?
Comments (15)@jj romeo WIW! You are so right! Your house really changes color in the light! I thought you used a filter or something! I can see several options with your brick. I really like it! One option is a creamy white. Another would be a blue grey to complement the yellow orange tones and greys in both lights. Another might be a sage green for an analogous color scheme. Personally I like creamy white. Not yellow cream, but a cocoa whip cream. But it's your house. You should go to the Sherwin Williams web site where you can post pictures of your house (use both lights you are showing us) and try on these different options to see which appeals to you for a body color. Post back again with one to three you like best and then ask about trim and door colors. Remember that if you aren't willing to spend the money to have colored windows, you are better off to choose other colors that will look good with white windows. That's another reason I like the cream body color for your brick....See Moremichaelmm123
