I really really really love this light
Comments (2)WOW! I've never seen anything like that and I thought I'd looked at every chandelier ever made. Here is a link that might be useful: chandelier...See MoreLove bugs are really bad this year
Comments (9)I would think anyone who's been around a heavy invasion of love bugs finds them annoying. They must have some sort of gluey substance on their bodies! And what they do to your car if you drive through a swarm! Fortunately I haven't noticed very many this year around my place - I'd rather the dragonflies eat mosquitoes....See MoreScentuous Report
Comments (14)I like her. I’d say she lasts as long as an average Austin, say Golden Celebration (which I also grow). She’s not going to compete with a thicker petaled HT, but if the average Austin lasts long enough for you, you’ll probably be fine with Scentuous. I give her credit for producing decent size , petal count and quantity in my hot summer, not every variety can do that. There is a very lush , gentle ,soft look to the bloom and the entire plant, I would say that’s her greatest asset. Fragrance is very good, but to my nose more a rose and vanilla scent., not clove. The blooms has a fine lacy ruffle detail that is uniquely beautiful. Tantau’s own Fragrant Cloud introduced 50+ years ago is still the King, Queen and Royal Family of Clove scented roses, and for fragrance Scentuous can in no way compare to him. My friend and I each got a Scentuous when we drove up to Chamblees. A few months later she texted me that she liked this rose, but for fragrance she’s not anywhere in old Fragrant Cloud’s universe. My thought exactly. Totally different look , of course:...See MoreDid anyone grow Scentuous last year?
Comments (22)Although Scentuous has a very attractive bloom, it doesn't look like the advertised photos, does it? The photos in the ads makes it look similar to Sonia Rykiel, but in real life it does not maintain that cupped form that the advertised photographs show. They must have thought that the photos of half-open blooms would sell better. That's the great thing about this forum and HelpMeFind: we can see how a rose looks in real life. Chamblee Edmunds Mine looked like this: Nice fragrance, weak twiggy growth so far, but only first year and my plant arrived in such poor condition that I'm surprised that it survived at all. Seems to repeat very well, and tolerate heat quite well despite petals being very thin. Blooms shatter when they seem to be at their peak, similar to Heritage....See MoreDiane Brakefield
