Monday Funday (what do I do with this?)
Comments (11)These instructions may help, Leveta...with the library kids, we just put Elmer's Glue down the center of the cut out strip & started rolling...kids loved it! Jeanne S. This is the html version of the file http://www.mootepoints.com/Projects/paper%20beads%20instructions.pdf. Google automatically generates html versions of documents as we crawl the web. Page 1 rolled paper beadsWhether you use chiyogami, hand decorated papers, glossy magazine pages or comic books, these beadsare a great addition to your paper crafting projects. What youÂll need·decorative paper·bamboo skewers or round tooth picks·white glue that dries clear or glaze like Judikins Diamond Glaze·wax paper·clean, damp clothMethod1Cut your paper into strips. I generally use apiece about 6" x 1/2" (15.2 cm x 1.3 cm) or larger.Taper each strip so that it looks like a long trian-gle. You can have a pointed end or a blunt end.2Starting at the wide end, roll the striptightly around the skewer with thewrong side of the paper touching theskewer. Run a thin bead of glue downthe center of the strip and continuerolling to the end. The glue will getsquished out across the paper as youroll.3Seal the edges of the bead by rubbing in any ofthe excess glue that has seeped out.4Slide the bead off the skewer onto the waxedpaper. Before making another bead, wipe theskewer with a damp cloth so the next beaddoesnÂt stick to the skewer.5When the beads are dry you can slide themback onto a skewer and coat them withvarathane or gloss medium. I use JudikinsDiamond Glaze to make the beads so that Ican skip this step because the excess glaze thatseeps out coats the outside of the bead when Irub it in along the edges.© C. Comments (20)Oh, Granlan, I am still not moving as I want. I think a lot of rest would help it. I keep doing things then resting. My husband has had two total knee replacements and he recovered just fine. It took me over a year to even feel well, not the bending, but I just felt like someone that had been really, really sick. I had to be in the hospital for 8 days, had to be on a lot of oxygen, kept runninng a fever and more pints of blood. I found out later from my family doctor after she got my records from the hospital that I apparently had a blood clot pass through my lung! So I want to avoid another total knee replacement if I can. I am riding along in a bit with youngest DD. I will sit in the truck with the dogs while she goes into the Dollar Store. We may pick up some lunch someplace. I don't feel like cooking. I have been trying to get some laundry done and have been trying to get my clothes pole put back into place. I finally have it there, so now I need to find a screw to put in it. Oh, and I still hear the squirrel in the fireplace. Maybe this afternoon will be better. Hope the sun is shining where everyone else is. Comments (12)DH and I have been spending every weekend shopping for appliances, pendant lamps, flooring, faucets, etc. for our upcoming kitchen/home remodel. We drag our sorry butts around from store to store getting ideas, taking notes, ordering things. As we pulled up to the umpteenth store this weekend this is what was written on the glass door to a kitchen shop. We busted out laughing and entered the place where three store employees all looked up from their desks in unison. We smiled at them all and announced that "we bring no children" They all smiled, relaxed and went back to doing what it was they were doing. Comments (16)I would not mess with that crow lol! Paula your Hosta are looking great and it must be fun having the mockingbirds. Here's hoping Gary! Lisa hail is no fun at all. Hopefully newer leaves will cover the damage. Wow you have been busy and your plants are so much farther ahead than mine. Well everyone is ahead of me. Ann you must be happy to have those ties almost gone. They should have taken care of them but often it is just quicker to do things ourselves. Pieter what a lovely thing to do. You are almost like the Miss Wilmott of marigolds lol! At least people get them willingly from you. For anyone curious look up Miss Wilmott's Ghost. Steve it is always great when rain helps out! old_dirt I am trying to get caught up on weeding/compost and mulching too. I got cedar chips last year for mulch and got sections done with a lot more to do this year. It was not inexpensive but it will certainly helps with weed suppression. Years ago I had cedar mulch from a huge sawmill that was like coarse ground. I loved it but it is no longer available so I had to go for the smallest chips I could find. Your Sagae is wonderful! Debra your yard is looking so tidy! I am still cleaning up leaves and debris in spots despite having done a good fall clean up. I just came in from spraying with Bobbex. It was a most unpleasant experience because the black flies are out! They are not in a feeding frenzy yet but I did have to wipe blood of my face... sigh. I have to be in precarious spots at times so I can't wear the bug shirt. I will get pics later since I was driven to distraction by those cursed black flies....See Moregardenfanatic2003
