I'll Show You Mine, If You'll Show Me Yours, Monday Mar 14
Comments (13)Yes, Topaz is a lot of fun. My DS and DIL gave it to me for Christmas. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range--the goal being for the lightest and darkest parts of a photo (and everything in between) to show up with equal intensity. (That's over-simplifying it, but it's the best I can do.) You can do this to a degree with Topaz, but the more ambitious photographers take several exposures of the same subject and then blend them together. I wouldn't be surprised if Nicole's DH has done this. (Nicole?)...See MoreWhat is Everyone Doing Today, Monday?
Comments (20)Oh, Granlan, I am still not moving as I want. I think a lot of rest would help it. I keep doing things then resting. My husband has had two total knee replacements and he recovered just fine. It took me over a year to even feel well, not the bending, but I just felt like someone that had been really, really sick. I had to be in the hospital for 8 days, had to be on a lot of oxygen, kept runninng a fever and more pints of blood. I found out later from my family doctor after she got my records from the hospital that I apparently had a blood clot pass through my lung! So I want to avoid another total knee replacement if I can. I am riding along in a bit with youngest DD. I will sit in the truck with the dogs while she goes into the Dollar Store. We may pick up some lunch someplace. I don't feel like cooking. I have been trying to get some laundry done and have been trying to get my clothes pole put back into place. I finally have it there, so now I need to find a screw to put in it. Oh, and I still hear the squirrel in the fireplace. Maybe this afternoon will be better. Hope the sun is shining where everyone else is. Comments (29)Interesting ~ Sometimes when a picture is posted here and I want to see it enlarged, I'll click the picture. Sometimes it has taken me to a larger picture or the host site and sometimes not. Kat_wa, do you sometimes unlock your albums at Photobucket? The reason I asked is that sometime back you posted a picture and I wanted to see the large version of it. When I clicked it, it took me to your album page and the only other picture there was of you and your son (I'm guessing) playing some kind of card game during one of your treatments. That was before you revealed yourself ... LOL I kept your secret :-) for a long time I might add!! Ha... Anyway, just wanted you to know that maybe your settings aren't where you want them to be. Thanks for posting about this.....learn something new here everyday....See MoreTotal gut and demo starts Monday...what do you do for water?
Comments (28)We're doing...okay. :) The water heater should get here Thursday or Friday, and DH will get the laundry sink hooked up hot and cold. Once that happens life will get much, much easier. I've also ordered a 2nd portable induction hob which is also on the way. For plumbing, for now, I'm using the garden sprayer on our front porch for quick rinsing (the "don't let stuff dry and get crusty before I actually wash it" rinsing) and for actual dishwashing, we're using the bathtub in the main bathroom on the second floor. Hauling a big plastic tub with all the dishes up and down is...sub-optimal. (I'm snorting). As I sit and type my back is on freakin' FIRE. I wish, wish, wish we could do pizza or subs or whatever...but half our house is basically wheat, corn, and soy free...and I'm on a 3-mth protocol that doesn't allow for a bunch of other stuff that makes it extremely difficult to find anything "legal" that's not from scratch. It sucks under normal conditions. With the demo in full swing, it's making me tear my hair out. I'm hoping hoping hoping that we'll gain efficiencies as we go along and figure more stuff out. For example, I was prepping some ribs today for smoking (had to work from home with a sick kid) and realized I had a box of food prep gloves from a previous life that would be MUCH easier than washing my hands every 5 minutes while working with raw pork. AH HA! So the good news, by the end of this coming weekend, we should be as set up as we can get for the next two months. The bad news is that unless our reno is the extreme outlier that gets done earlier than scheduled (I'm snorting again) we're looking at 7 more weeks MINIMUM until our new kitchen is ready for prime-time. I keep thinking about how amazingly awesome it really will be, and how easy everything will seem with this behind us. It's just about time to pick some slabs and tile...2nd most fun thing ever after appliance shopping. :)...See Moretsugajunkie z5 SE WI ♱
