Comments (2)I agree with tapla. Even when the top looks dry, there is still moisture underneath. Let the roots go lower to search out that water and you'll have stronger plants. Yes, a quick dose of water will perk up the vines a bit, but if you wait it out, you should see them just as perky in the morning. If they don't perk up by morning, THEN you might have a problem. Comments (6)The white bower vine that I planted in spring has not produced any flowers yet either, but I do see some buds. The ones that are in a similar area, but were planted last year are flower power machines. I think it takes a while for it to take off. Keep up with the watering. Is it in sun for the most part? Comments (4)Kerai, I have been growing this plant for several years. I believe that it is considered hardy only in zone 9 and above, so I would recommend that you bring it inside. It will stay evergreen in the house with a minimum of light and water. You can also cut it back and take cuttings for rooting. The cuttings will take several months to form a callus and may not show any roots until next spring, but will stay green in the meantime. A couple of years ago I left the original vine in the ground and covered it with a foot of leaves. It did come back slowly in late spring. Also, there is a variegated Pandora vine at the local arboretum which has come back for the past couple of years, but never blooms. Remember though, we have not had a "normal" winter for several years and when we do, a lot of us are going to lose all of those marginally hardy plants that we have been successfully overwintering. By the way, my plants will bloom profusely some years (looks like a pink and white Mandevilla) and not at all others. I still have not figured out this vine....See MoreStreptocarpus - limp leaves!
Comments (2)Claire- reduce the water. They need to be very dry before you water again. I water when they start looking a bit limp. Since it is 2 years old - it should be a large plant. I think they do not bloom well if they are that old. It is a time to disassemble the plant, cut the wedges with new offshoots for potting and toss old tired overgrown part. If you grow Iris in a garden - you know what I mean. Divide, trash an old center, replant new growth. Irina...See Morewestes Zone 9b California SF Bay
