Comments (2)Thanks rosecanadian! Here's a better photo of it's colour during cooler weather, I would say this is pretty accurate: I noticed the blooms appear more reddish when it is cool, and appear more pink when it is hot. Although not nearly as impressive as many of the roses I have seen on this forum, in my opinion this is one of the best I can get for this zone. A bit unrelated - I stumbled across stunning photos of Eden/Pierre de Ronsard and I'm tempted to move somewhere warmer just to grow it!...See MoreWinnipeg Parks
Comments (10)Some more photos this time using the DSLR. They sure are having a good year, here are all six: The first time I planted them I too was worried if they would come back or not. I found it helped to plant extra deep, water infrequently yet deeply to encourage deep root growth, and to give a really good deep water just before freeze up. Lol, the thought has crossed my mind to plant Winnipeg Parks and only Winnipeg Parks everywhere....See MoreWinnipeg Parks rose buds being attacked?
Comments (8)I had no idea they come out at night, thank you for the tip! They have now gotten my Morden Sunrise, Winnipeg Parks, and Snow Pavement. Some bushes have no buds left because of them. Usually I don't care if bugs have a snack, they do have to eat after all but I am finding these particularly destructive to why I even have roses: for the blooms. Sounds like I'll be out there at night with a flashlight lol....See MoreAnd the winner is...Winnipeg Parks!
Comments (12)I don't know how much space you have, but you may want to look at some of the early bloomers. The Chinese yellows like R. hugonis and R. primula should beat a main season rose by several weeks, at least....See Moreostrich
