Comments (2)This rose is a beautiful climber, but it get's black spot bad and only blooms once. You can see all the lower leaves are gone from disease. It's very vigorous and what you see in the pic was all last season growth! It compliments my Sunrise Sunset Bailey Rose very nice. Can anyone help me ID it? Also, I'm looking for something to replace it with similar color (the color in photo is a little off-it's slightly more deep pink/magenta). I need zone 5 hardiness and season long bloom would be nice! Thanks for any suggestions. I was thinking Quadra from Explorer series, but I think that will be more red than this. Comments (3)Someone emailed suggesting that this could be a Banshee. She wasn't 100% sure because my picture was dark. Is there any thing special I should look for to rule out or in this species? It seems to have most of the characteristics listed on helpmefind.com. I won't be totally sure about the stronger fragrance until it blooms again in late June. Also, I don't think it was quite as light colored as in some of the pics but I read on some of the sites that sell this rose that it comes in different shades. Comments (2)We see these out here also. Has it really escaped, as in coming up on its own, from seed, or does it always indicate a former planting? Seems pretty unexpected that it would repeatedly come true from seed, unless it's producing apomictic (clonal) seedlings. Since the rose relations the hawthorns and mountain ashes are known to do this, unless someone knows otherwise it then appears it might be possible with roses....See MorePlease help ID Climbing Rose
Comments (1)Can you post a larger pic of the plant, or a closeup of the flowers? It's hard to see the detail of the flowers - are they light or dark pink? From your description, I'm thinking it's one of the hybrid Wichurana ramblers, but I can't tell from your photo....See Moregreentea123
