apache plume help

Susan Thomas
last year

I planted two apache plume shrubs in my back yard flower bed. It is against a west facing wall that gets sun most of the day. I added pumice to make sure the soil is well draining. I planted, watered them deeply and left them alone. within a week the leaves are brown and falling off. I water once a week deeply but have no idea what to do. I plant, water deeply and leave them alone but they die off within days. Is it the soil, the sun, too much water, too little? I am having problems with lavender, rosemary and russian sage along the same wall. I feel like I'm cursed. Any advice would be great.
