Banana in Pot after Harvest

Just got harvest of bananas from dwarf cavendish in a pot...and want to ask. For next crop, what is best technique. Should i cut out the daughter with the spear shaped leaves and plant in a new pot? Or, is it better to cut old tree and let the spear daughter grow from the same pot? I've always cut out and replanted, but i'm wondering if it is better to leave the old rhizome mass in the pot to give stronger growth to the next generation. If yes, how many generations would you keep the original rhizome mass? I could certainly swap out for new soil, but how long to keep original mass before starting with a cutting? I also wonder when you keep the original rhizome mass, it probably produces more suckers and daughters, so more work to keep cutting them out of the pot. If anyone has knowledge and experience on this would love to hear from you. Thanks
