Can you help me identify this Bromeliad?
Comments (7)Thank you purplestar, 'muriel waterman' very much looks like the one, although the photos that I found online weren't as vivid or rich in color, so if not the same one, I know I am on the right track. Thanks paul t23, the camera that took these is a simple Canon Powershot Pro 1. It is basically an 8.0 MP point and shoot, but it has a very versatile lens and 7.0 optical zoom, with a very easy to use macro setting. If you can believe it, this brom looks better in person than on film, the picture just doesn't do it justice. Thanks for looking and more to come!...See MoreYour best Billbergias
Comments (14)It's good to see the dear old bills getting some exposure. Great clumps in those trees Andrew - in fact lots of great pics from everyone. I LOVE that Incendiary Delight Gonz. It made me look up that word in a dictionary. Incendiary = tending to stir up conflict or controversy. Ha! Good name! Winter - I agree with Dennis and Andrew about them taking a little while to get going, but they root happily (!) to branches and look good as single specimens or in clumps. I like the way growing them epiphytically shows their form off well. Here are some of mine in trees. My very favourite alfonsi-joannis. It roots quickly and is very tough - but soooo slow growing. horrida v. tigrina Doreen Johnston amoena red form macrocalyx Pink Champagne Platinum Ralph Graham French Red Raven sanderiana brasiliensis Murial Waterman Rubro-Cyanea Santa Barbara unknown - any suggestions?? Comments (15)Hi Dooley, They're two nice looking little plants toy have there. Exactly what size are they and are they also unstable like the mini meyendorffii. kathi_mdgd, Sorry, I stuffed up once again. I was rearranging my albums and must have broken the link which caused the pic's to be removed. I try and load them again. Does anyone know if it's possible to remove all the blank boxes where the pic's once were? Comments (12)Hi Bryan - Very nice, and like HDD says, much more attractive than the named cultivar. The pic of it in the FCBS Photo Index is a different colour as well - (could it be the result of the large pot it's growing in)??? All the best, Nev....See Moregyr_falcon
