Oh my goodness, did I kill my Sambucus Black Lace?
Comments (21)Don't give up! I can tell you our 4 Sambucus shrubs really took off this year after being planted 3 years ago. They are finally stunning and thriving! We were really considering giving up on them if they looked as ratty at the end of this season as they did for the last couple. I'm really stunned and wish I had a before/after pic because it really is something. By the way... No fertilizer - no nothing other than it's "natural" environment and some minimal pruning/shaping....See MoreDid I kill my potted hostas?
Comments (21)Last winter I lost many plants that were in pots because we had a warm Feb and a lot of rain. Most of them rotted. This year, I moved them under the deck and it was a good thing because we had a very warm winter again this year with temps above freezing. They all survived just fine under the deck. My daughter who lives up near the Idaho border puts all her potted hosta in her unheated garage and does not water them at all and they always survive. You just need to experiment and see what works for you....See MoreDid I kill my trees?

Comments (9)You did not kill your worms:-) Shredded office paper is perfectly acceptable for bedding......as is shredded junk mail. It just tends to mat up more than newspaper or shredded cardboard and stays too soggy. Adding dried leaves if you have any could lighten the mass and perk things up....See Morejerzeegirl (FL zone 9B)
