Why do my peaches trees drop green leaves?
Comments (2)Thank you very much, Fruitnut. Unfortunately, not only I can't do anything to aid the drainage (I planted them on my lawn which is level), I just mulched the darn things this past weekend. I'll remove the mulch tomorrow and start praying. Thank you for your advice on rootstocks. I have not paid much attention to them before. I will do now. I just plan to plant a new peach tree (TangOs) on a mound next year following Olpea's system. It looks like I may need to plant a few more new peach trees if it does not stop raining anytime soon....See MoreHelp- my rubber tree is sad! Dropping leaves.
Comments (6)Your winter climate is dark. May not be getting enough sun. Not watering it, won't help it any. Misting it is useless, better to increase the humidity in your house if it's dry. When you do water, you should drench it thoroughly , then let it dry. Make sure the soil is actually absorbing the water and not merely running through the container (which happens in peaty mixes that are allowed to dry out excessively). Still is not too late though. Good luck....See MoreHi! We have an oak tree that has been dropping green leaves
Comments (8)Houston, TX A year after we planted the tree the bark started looking that way. When you touched the bark it moved like the bark was loose from the tree. We treated it with fungicide for the whole summer. It's dropping at least 25-30 leaves a day so by now it has lost 10 to 20 percent so far. It is putting on new growth but it should not be letting go of this springs leaves. We have had a wet spring (2017) and the tree was damaged last spring (2016) by a bad storm. That storm literally moved the tree and sucked its root system out of the ground. The trunk itself was loose in the dirt. But we had no problems after, the tree rerooted itself and we straightened it back up....See MoreLime tree losing green leaves & new leaves with yellow spots (pics)
Comments (11)You could try and prune it to a smaller size maybe if you wish to keep it in a smaller pot, my key lime is quite small and it went through several flowering cycles this year. Citrus are heavy feeders so providing enough nutrients is key. I use granular citrus fertilizer on a monthly basis just topdress the soil, and when my plants are fruiting and flowering I use a water soluble fertilizer weekly. They also make water soluble citrus nutrients which can be diluted and sprayed on the leaves. I prefer to apply smaller amounts of nutrients more often. Also I recommend using organic fertilizer, non organic fertilizer will lead to salt build up in the pot. The picture is the kinds of fertilizer I use. In the background you can see some key limes in my fruit basket....See Morefloral_uk z.8/9 SW UK
