Newbie question - hedge / privacy screen for central NY state
Comments (1)I suggest you give parameters and context. Landscaping is about solving problems within a framework of the surroundings. Showing a picture of the "big old white pine" shadow and surroundings could help. What's being screened?...See MoreNY State restaurant or market--King Crab.
Comments (11)I don't buy fish or meat from BJ's so I didn't even know where to look for crab. I did find some today so I guess they carry it regularly. Earlier today I shopped at Wegmsn's and while I was looking for shrimp I found King Crab from Russia and I bought about 3/4 of a pound. The price makes it something for a very special holiday. Wegman's also has lobster on sale "through the holidays" so I will buy some for me and my son (married, but DIL doesn't eat it) for New Year's Day. He makes it into Alfredo. I eat my lobster hot, soaked in butter or cold, as in a lobster roll. I am interested in ordering crab from Alaska too. Nancy...See MoreDestination : NY State (not NY City)
Comments (4)My brother and SIL had their wedding reception at the Genesse Country Village, which is near Rochester. Their wedding was in the afternoon and all wedding guests had free admission to the Village for the entire day of the wedding. It was one of the nicest weddings I've been to. The food was excellent and the staff was great. No lake, just a trout stream, but some lovely views and gardens. You can't sleep there, but the Genesse Country Inn claims to be walking distance away. Here is a link that might be useful: Genesse Country Village...See MoreLandscape Budget Guidance Requested - Western NY State
Comments (3)You need to be asking this of a professional landscaper or landscape designer. It is impossible to give any sort of reasonable estimate of the costs involved without visually viewing the site, preferably in person, and without a clear, well-defined scope of the project. Most landscapers are able to provide estimates, often free, but they will need a detailed assessment of the project to do so.....and that usually involves a drafted landscape plan. As a professional landscape designer myself, although I have no firsthand familiarity with the costs of landscaping in NY, I will say that most homeowners have little real sense of the costs involved in having professional landscaping done. It is not cheap and costs increase significantly with any sort of earth movement/grading or with a lot of hardscaping (patios, steps and walkways). Design plans are relatively inexpensive and the plans themselves are cheap - it is the labor and other materials that add up rapidly....See MoreHank1120
