Ashley's Senior Prom
Comments (26)Sherry, I don't know when she's getting married. David's sister "surprised" the family with the announcement that she was getting married this summer. That wedding is May 20. David's mother says she can't handle two weddings in one year, it's too "stressful". Since Amanda doesn't really care whether they get married or not, she just said they'd wait until next year. It's fine with me, I have Ashley's graduation, then her open house, her trip to Costa Rica, and college preparations to make for fall, I have plenty to occupy me this summer (and to spend my money on!) Comments (14)My DD was 5'9" and 110 lbs at the time we were looking for her senior prom dress. Had a very difficult time finding dresses that she liked and also fit. We had the opposite experience than that of roselvr. All of the dresses were cut for more shapley girls, many of the dresses were also too short. Being model thin is not so desirable when you are in high school. I am a loyal Nordstrom shopper. We were able to find alot of sweet 16 party dresses when DD needed those thru Nordys. Can't comment on their prom dresses as we never looked there for prom. Can't hurt, I just love the customer service provided by Nordstrom. They make everything easy as opposed to other stores where the sales people act like they are doing you a favor by selling you an overpriced piece of clothing....See MoreWant to see Syds prom dress for this year.......
Comments (28)She is beautiful, and so is the dress. I remember shopping for my older daughter's prom dress, two years ago. She was very picky, didn't like anything. I took her to a bridal shop and she picked out a lovely, floor-length white dress with a black sash. It had to be altered, but she looked beautiful. I told her I was saving the gown for her wedding, all we would have to do is remove the sash!...See MoreWhat do you remember from your high school prom?
Comments (43)Our school had a junior-senior prom. It was a small school so I guess they needed two classes to fill the Elks Club ballroom. Don't remember my gown or date my junior year. I'd have to get out the yearbook--wherever it is. :0 My senior year I was dating a guy from the next town. I was very small and we had a terrible time finding a gown to fit. I don't know why my mother didn't make it. She always made our clothes. About a month before prom, mother and daddy went to Columbus, Ohio to visit my aunt and uncle and mother found the prettiest dress. It was a size 3 and she had to alter it. It was short, dusty rose organdy with spaghetti straps (nothing to hold up a topless gown). Across the bodice was a row if deep rose and dusty rose organdy flowers that could be removed (I kept them). I loved that dress! My date brought me a corsage of pink baby roses with babies breath that I pressed and kept for years. After the prom ended at midnight (a treat for all of us to be up that late back then), the Seniors had an all-night party. It was also at the Elks Club. We all changed into bermuda shorts, which were the new hot thing, and danced, played games and ate until about 5 when they served us breakfast. It was a lot of fun and emotional because we were graduating and sure we'd never see each other again. You know how emotional HS girls can be. A lot of kids in my class ended up back in R-ville. Nice little town to raise a family. It'll be 50 years next month since that prom night. Sure wish I was going to the reunion in June!...See Morearcy_gw
