Comments (4)Yes, I would put them on her and then pin in the side seams so they fit better, and whatever you pin it in at the hip, just take it all the way down the leg. Hard to tell from the pic, but I assume there is an elastic waist band under the fold over. If it's in a casing, you may need to open up the casing, tighten up the elastic, and restitch the opening shut. To tighten up the elastic, you want to cut off the excess, then overlap the ends so they lay flat, one on top of the other, and then do a multiple step zig zag back and forth a few times to really stitch it shut. If you don't have to mess with the crotch, that'd be better. If you do have to mess with the crotch, remember to shorten the crotch you have to take it in along the line of the inside leg seam. If you take it in along the line of the center front/center back seam, you are actually lengthening the crotch. It might be easier though to hike it up at the waistline and leave the crotch alone. But at some point, it's probably not going to be worth messing with any longer. So start with the side seams and the elastic and see what happens....See MoreAnnie/Others..I Need Help w/ Brussel Sprouts
Comments (24)I'm a roaster, too. Olive oil and kosher salt; maybe cayenne or another flavor. Yes, they reheat fine. No, they don't stink up the kitchen. I have done this at lots of different temperatures; depends what else is in the oven, just adjust the time. Give them a stir every 10 minutes or so. I have to disagree with rachelellen (which astonishes me). I think sprouts get nice and sweet when they are thoroughly cooked; they can be bitter and peppery before that. But I do agree that overcooked boiled, steamed, or microwaved sprouts are nasty and slimy. I always roast them, and I think that if you roast them, the danger is under-, not overcooking. Even when my children were little, these were their favorite vegetable. I learned to roast them from my late friend and law partner. He was a restaurant critic and a noted food and wine guy, so our "signature" was fine food and wine. He used to buy a whole stalk (they grow in a beautiful spiral) and roast the whole thing, then put a scissors on the serving tray. They were so wonderful, we would serve them at our firm's annual party, and although the rest of the food was great and plentiful (had to be!), I am not exaggerating when I say that there would be a LINE for his sprouts that snaked around and out the door. When you have the governor and a few judges standing in line for Brussels sprouts, you know you've hit the right recipe! So now I cook most vegetables that way. And I always think of my friend....See MoreAnnieD - your homemade Shake n Bake?
Comments (20)There could be things other than the malt in the Whoppers that could cause problems. Look at your overall diet because each person is different and what affects one person might not bother another. I never connected some foods to my itchy eyes and aching joints until I found a allergist that did the testing by putting stuff under the skin. I can eat all of them in moderation with little problem. Too much depending on what they are I can have problems. My other pain in the joint foods are peanut butter and rice....See MoreOutsidePlaying
