Running upstairs!!!!
Comments (57)Hello! I just read through this entire blog because i have the same problem: noisy neighbors with a small child running across the whole apartment and constantly banging stuff on our ceiling. We have been living in our co-op for 5 years and we have a big dog too (no kids). About 6 months ago, this young family moved in above us and the small child started to run all across the apartment (back and forth and back and forth). And bang really really loud on our ceiling. We tried to play the nice card and bought them stuff to help with the noise. But it still continued. By that time we got very angry and very stressed and ignored. CHILDREN SHOULD NOT RUN IN THE HOUSE! IT IS NOT SAFE FOR THEM (this is coming from someone who has three older siblings with many nephews and nieces). My siblings always monitor, discipline and explain to their children about proper behavior. People who are saying "kids will be kids" are completely wrong. YOU ARE THE PARENT SO CONTROL YOUR CHILD!!!! Let's be adults here and realize that noisy children behavior is mostly disruptive to everyone except those who are the parents (and yes maybe the parents themselves are sick and tired from them but hey, you wanted to have kids like the rest of your friends, so suck it up). We decided that we will not tolerate the constant running and banging so we are taking it up with our board. I personally think that there should be LAWS ON THE LEASE / CONTRACT AGREEMENT about families moving into a complex or building that has only singles or couples. Meaning they should be allowed possibly on the first floor only. REALLY! I would not expect others to tolerate if my kids or my habits were bothersome to others so why are we so quick to dismiss the complaints of those people who are bothered? I think its simply lazy parents who are careless and no common sense folks who don't know what the hell parenting is all about !!!!!!I truly sympathize with the people who feel ignored by their neighbors and management and landlords about the noise. Since we all can't afford private residences and mansions and what have you, then I believe from a rational point of view that who ever is the source of disturbance they should stop immediately or keep it at a bare minimum. IF YOU ARE CREATING DISTURBANCE THEN YOU SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AND STOP DISTURBING OTHERS! Because even if we decide to move out, then the following tenants will deal with this issue too. So, you and your running kids won't win anyways....See MoreWith all this mattress talk, anyone have a Tempurpedic?
Comments (34)I know this thread is old, but I came across it when doing a search for something else. We have a true Tempurpedic thick mattress (not the thin and not the pillow top.) We bought it because I was having back problems. The bed is wonderful in the winter, and really keeps you toasty. I have no problems with my back in the winter. In the summer, the bed gets too "soft" for my back. I think one reason is because our bedroom is south facing and gets very hot in the afternoon...therefore the mattress heats up and softens. I have the hot flashes, too. LOL We keep our thermostat around 72-74 in the summer (65 in the winter.) Also, I am "fluffy" so the extra weight makes the mattress sink down even further when it is warm. On the other hand, my DH is thin and he loves the mattress year round. We fight over the thermostat settings. He wants it warmer in both the summer and the winter. Ugh!!! I have found that if I place a thick mattress pad on top of the Tempur in the summer it helps keep my body heat from heating up the mattress. I take it off in the winter, so that the mattress can "catch" the cold from the room and firm up more. If I had it to do all over again, I would have either purchased the thinner mattress (these are firmer, but would make the overall bed thinner and hard to cover) or purchased the Sleep Number so that DH and I could have our own settings. Moving around the bed is a little difficult and there is absolutely no support for the back if one of the "kids" jumps on top of you. Wink, wink!...See MoreSophie sent me a baby from the rainbow bridge
Comments (32)You took the words right out of my mouth, Nina! Milo (who we have nicknamed Fuzz) has filled my heart with such happiness, though I still grieve my sweet Sophie. <3 I'm so glad your Olivia found one when she did. :) That picture is the most adorable thing! Update on Fuzz AKA Milo. He has been to the vet and had his first set of shots and I got his deworming medicine, which he already finished. He left with a clean bill of health. :) We are socializing him with family member's and friend's pets at home and he has done very well. :) Sadly, we have no puppy classes where I live (I live in the Appalachian mountains where our closest Walmart is even 35 minutes away). The only classes we have are pet co and it's just for training. So we are sticking with family and friend's dogs who we know are vaccinated and healthy, until he finishes his round of shots. I want to say thank you to each and everyone of you. You are all so kind and your words all mean so much. I truly love this community!...See MoreBuilt In Dog Crate
Comments (30)murraysmom, for most dogs, their crate is a place of safety and security. Many prefer to go to their crates to avoid any chaos that's happening. And if they're home alone, many dogs prefer being locked in their crates because then they don't feel "responsible" for the entire house, and it reduces their stress level. It's not sad, it's recognizing that dogs have different psychological needs than we do, and meeting those needs - rather than trying to make them conform to ours....See Morechisue
