Help! Did I ruin my peonies somehow?
Comments (2)hi, not sure if this helps but my soil is also clay based and my peonies do fine add some organic compost to thin out the clay/dirt ratiodo not add sand as that will make a concrete type mixture, water maybe once a week depending on your weather (i think peonies are similar to iris's in that they don't like to be planted very tightly or deeply)also if you moved plants then it might take a year to get really solid blooms. not to sure if it applies to peonies but(1st yr it sleeps, 2nd year it creeps, and 3rd year it leaps, by year 4 if no progress trash heap!)...See MorePlease help figure this out, can I use this fixture somehow?
Comments (0)We are renovating a bathroom where we have a 46-inch-wide bathroom vanity which sits with the back and left sides attached to walls. The mirror is going to be the same width as the vanity. There is not enough room there for two side fixtures, we need to have one single fixture above the sink. But we have a vent pipe from the sink going directly in the center and it can't be moved. So the advice I received is to pick a fixture with a back plate and have the electrical box installed with an offset and hidden behing the plate somehow. Our style is mostly transitional so I don't want anything too ornate or victorian but also don't want a very plain look. The one that I like most is this one: http://www.handmadeinvermont.com/hub_products/interior_sconces/int_sconces_links/intsconce_20_5243.htm I thought there should be enough room there to do what we need to do but I called Handmadeinvermont and they said the plate is only 4.75" tall in the center so it can't be done with a 4" electrical box. Do any other options exist or do I need to dismiss this fixture and keep looking?...See MoreExterior Update help!!! I want to add a bigger porch somehow.

Comments (5)I have never seen Fortuniana set seed anywhere I have encountered or grown it. Fortuniana is considered to be a cross between R. Banksiae and R. Laevigata, therefore a hybrid which would not germinate true to the type from seed. So, no, IF you could find Fortuniana seed, you would not be able to raise the exact rose you are looking for from its seed. And, I know of no source for Fortuniana seed as it has never set seed in my experience. Where are you located? You may be able to obtain cuttings, depending upon where you live....See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
