Anyone with H&M sofa that does not like the down-filled cushions?
Comments (12)johnxyz, here are a few worth looking at and some tips: barileatherfurniture.com cascobayfurniture.com clubfurniture.com restorationhardware.com leathergroups.com Most of those are all online stores I believe, Restoration Hardware has stores all over though. RH is probably the most expensive out of those, but they have good quality from what I have seen/read. I shopped around for about 6-7 months before I bought from Bari Furniture. I got a 4 peice set for just under $3k, it was 8 way hand tied, down blend seats, hardwood frame, and really nice leather. It was in their clearance section, seems like an amazing deal, so I definitely think it is worth it to shop around a lot at as many places as you can. My best advice is to shop around a lot, sign up for email lists or newsletters on the online sites (they often give out coupons), ask for price matches if possible, and pay attention to what is in the clearance sections....See MoreDown Sofa Cushions
Comments (9)i am in love with our spring down cushion on a stanford chair and a half we've had for over 15 years. in that time not one feather has escaped -and the sit and comfort is magnificent. there is simply no finer quality. that said, if stanford isn't making the cushion, i'd have nothing to do with down. i have just gotten rid of two all down seat cushions from my lee sofas. they were purchased brand new and moved into our new build in august. i have tried since then to love them, but i had to face reality. no one in the family would sit in the living room since the sofas were so uncomfortable. the down would need to be "fluffed" after every single use -which was no easy task, since they basically felt more like giant cement blocks instead of feathers. the down was coming through the "protective" cover and up through the upholstery. the entire house looked as if a flock of geese had taken up residence in our home. feathers everywhere, all the time. i am thankful to be rid of them. i asked lee to replace with spring fiber cushions and they are so much better. definitely not anything near the comfort of the stanford, but i didn't expect they would be. the stanford chair cost basically the same as the two sofas. a very different animal altogether. so. that said, i don't trust down to just any manufacturer. since you're talking about seat cushions only, i'm assuming you will have them made by a local place. i would visit and test out everything they make. if you can't sit in it, don't buy it. i do need replacement cushions for a hancock and moore sofa we will have reupholstered. i'd like to get fiber wrapped spring cushions for it as well. but it depends on who will be making them. the only thing i know for sure -as mentioned above, no down ever again, unless it's from stanford, period. good luck!...See MoreNoisey Down Sofa Cushions
Comments (7)Thank you for your comments about down, I am not going to buy the down couch as I could not live with that sound/sensation. I just got back from a weekend sectional-hunting trip, and found two sofas in my price range that I liked: the Flexsteel Thornton and Macy's Kenton. I like the rolled arms of the Thornton, however the Kenton has the edge because it is 38" deep, while the Thornton is only 37". That one inch means a lot to my back:). Does anyone know "who" manufactures the Kenton, and how is the quality compared to the Thornton?...See MoreFoam couch cushions versus spring down couch cushions.
Comments (0)I recently bought a couch rom Ralph Lauren and it came with ultra blend couch cushions. The cushions started to flatten. I did;t know a whole lot about couch cushions. they are willing to replace the cushions for more firm cushions, however they do not have the two most firm cushions to sit on in the store for me to try. These are the two cushions I have to choose from. the representative at Ralph Lauren is saying that the Luxury foam fusion is the most firm and the Springdown is 2nd most firm. Please anyone give me advice on what you would pick. I am attaching the discription of both cushions. Please help me decided what to get. I would like something very firm, this couch needs to last us a while, and it is our main couch, so lots of people will be sitting on it, I am looking for most firm couch. However, wouldn't an all foam couch be not so firm and a spiring couch be more firm. Anyway please see attached photos for description....See Moresblynn
