Cheapest place to buy seeds and plants online?
Comments (3)Try valueseeds for inexpensive seeds. It is the clearance outlet for T&M. Shipping is a flat fee of $1.99 and all seeds are .99 cents or less. The seeds are sent without the outside packet so you have to do some work in getting the instructions for planting and growing but it is all found on the website. They list new seeds a couple of times a year so you have to keep an eye out for the new listings. Some sought after items sell out almost overnight. Shipping is quick and well done. spiderwoman...See MoreWhere to buy creeping thyme plants locally or online
Comments (10)I get Annie's catalog every year. Seems like everything is $5 bucks for any amount of seed, one seed or 10 seeds. You never get a lot of seeds, and everything in there looks surreal. Most of it only grows in zones 9-11, but there are a few in zone 6. Her stuff is expensive, and beautiful. It's her trip, I'm not judging, it just seems out of touch with reality. I can get thousands of seeds way cheaper. She just seems to find really hard to find plants and sell them at a high price. We grow hard to find plants and sell them at a cheap price. Not knocking it, she just has a better selection. Her prices are high bc of her overhead. We don't use expensive heaters and grow what we can by natural selection and for zone 6 and up. I just don't really want to pay the electric company to grow what Mother Nature can grow if you just pay some attention to it, so somebody's gotta pay for that electric bill, and the hoop houses. I still can't understand why they need to be so high when most people who shop are women and under 5'7". They don't need to be 20' high. Hot air rises, seems silly. Check out Elliot Coleman who grows in Vermont with no lights, no heat, and sells to high-end restaurants in the middle of winter. It's more impressive....See MoreWhere do you buy rare plants online?
Comments (18)Ron, Phoenix Perennials might be worth looking at if you're into agaves, yuccas, and sedums. They started doing mail order a year or two ago. The owner is a great guy and I suspect he will increase the selection of agaves over time. I ordered from Plants Delights once before and am tempted to do so again this year, but, of course, it gets expensive when ordering from Canada. I finally orderd a couple of plants from Jamie at Valley Succulents, who is also great to deal with, but will pick the plants up in Comox in the spring. Finally have (well almost) Aloe plicatilis and Sedum palmeri Jeff! :-) Here is a link that might be useful: Phoenix Perennials...See Morewhere to buy a black iris plant online
Comments (5)I bought BLACK SUITED from Wild Iris Rows last year, they recommended it because they said it was a solid black and a vigorous grower, and I can sttest to that, the 2 rhizomes that I got both but out 2-3 new leads before fall. It hasn't flowered (and probably won't until next year) but based on what I saw i recommend it (also i don't water anything and it still did well)....See More
