So...what do you actually do with fatalis?
Comments (2)I am also looking for more ideas with this pepper. I sampled some Cajohn's Fatalii Puree at "Tears of Joy" in Austin and was instantly addicted. I bought a bottle and was debating on two. It has a little bit of a mustard taste to me, so it will go good with burgers and sandwiches. I will definately grow some once I get my hands on some seeds....See MoreHow do you actually tie a zuc
Comments (7)Yea i had heard about the tomato ring idea as well. I just think itd be very easy for my 1 yr old son to grab em & yank & then bye bye zucchini. Do u think they could take that kind of abuse? Im hoping the nylon netting im going to surround them w will do the same thing, but be a lil harder for my son to destroy. My garden is a very odd layout so if i let my zucs run free they will be resting on concrete. Would that be ok? So far i havent had any problems w any bugs. I do have a mass amount of slugs though, ewwww. Ive been handpicking & killing them. & cinch bugs, but i dont have any grass (which ive read is all they damage, is this true?) So ive been letting them live. But i also would like to attract some predatory insects, bc within the 3 months ive been working in the garden i have only seen 2 ladybugs & no other bugs in general. I have a shady spot that i could plant things in. Any suggestion on flowers i should use? Hopefully the svb isnt too bad in ur area this year keski. Thanks for the idea. I might try it next year, i always loved to experiment! Sorry for all the questions, i just kept thinking of them as i typed lol....See MoreHow much of a thread do you actually read before you respond?
Comments (23)I do read everyone's responses before posting my own. How many postings have we seen where in the middle of the responses there is "I didn't have time to read everyone else's answers, but I think the solutions is to [whatever]," when somebody up higher has already suggested that. To me, it's just disrespectful. Think about it this way: We are having conversations here. Now picture yourself out to lunch with a handful of friends, trading opinions. But you are zoning out, thinking about your grocery list, checking out the dessert at the next table. Then you make a contribution to the conversation--the same contribution that one of your friends made 10 minutes earlier. What you've basically done is tell that friend that she wasn't worth your time to listen to, that you really don't value that person. Now I know many of you wouldn't do that in person, yet we do it on these boards, just because it's a "virtual" acquaintance? (I'm sure there've been studies into the things we dare say to online acquaintances but would never, ever say to someone's face.) (And I think everybody is strapped for time, so that's really not an excuse, IMHO.) I think it's slightly different if someone here has posted a question asking if she should rip out her powder room's tile floor (just an example! OP of that, don't get upset!)--then she's really looking to see how the yes/no votes stack up....See MoreCurly willow - what do you actually do with it?
Comments (14)A similar thing we have right now, which is giving me NO END of joy, is branches (thing - is; branches - are -- whichever one you want) of an Italian plum tree that I pruned off because they got over our blueberries (neighbor's tree). The branches were in bud when I brought them in an d put them in water, but now they've opened and have those gorgeous, sweet-smelling plum blossoms against bear branches, coming out at gorgeous skew curves from a tall narrow vase (filled with water and indoor-plant fertilizer). I'm in living-bouquet heaven! It changes every day as more and more flowers and hints of leaves come out. It's a bit sad because they won't ever bear fruit, but it's better than having just thrown them on the compost heap. It's going to be a February tradition from now on : )...See Moreplllog
