cost of puron (R-410A) per pound / typical markup
Comments (27)I watched your video on Montreal. Very informative. This year I had to raise my retail cost to my customers for the first time in 5 years : R22 from 110 up to 150. 410a and blends : from 55 up to 75/ lb. I was lucky to get 25lb jugs of 410a at 89 out the door by emptying my checking account on Dec.23,2020. Thank you HU-741671485, When I make videos of this nature I spend alot of time researching the subject. Those from a far will chastise political bend, but these political figures are the whole reason behind the changes. So trying to make something without political bend is easy for those who wish to keep their heads buried in the sand. Some of these places have Trigger laws that will simply follow California's lead if they don't come up with a back bone of their own. If you're a jellyfish I guess you got bigger fish to worry about than a spine. If what they were proposing was actually fixing it I may have a different opinion but I often take the side of the under dog for various reasons... or the opposing view to provide clarity. You don't get clarity by just choosing to not talk about politics because it's about politics. At the end of the day you choose what you can choose. One day soon --- many of those choices a home owner has now is likely going away. Unless a company sells alot of refrigerant gas it doesn't really pay to stock up on it. If you're not fixing refrigerant leaks that stops you from selling the refrigerant that you just stocked up on so this method is becoming obsolete. The days of gas n go to the extent I believe you may be apart of is going away. The other side of this for you is that when you're forced to raise prices even minorly the likely whole reason your customers use you is that they can't find cheaper solution elsewhere. It's a double edge sword. I know the home warranty companies often find themselves in these kinds of situations due to what the home warranty company will pay for. ( I don't do home warranties for that reason there's other reasons too, but this is a big one.) If you're a big HVAC company with 30 techs or more with 30 trucks or more on the road? That may be close to a pallet of refrigerant right there with a drum on each truck. So ordering by the pallet for some is a more logical way to buy it than for some 1 man operation like myself. It doesn't pay me to buy it like that. I haven't gotten into buying all these wild hair varieties as you put it. Because I knew a day was coming in which their day in the sun would end. I still to this day find R22 machines and most of the time it's a replace to R410a as currently that is the best choice moving forward. In a few years R410a (it's 2022 now) choices will become more clouded. Buying refrigerant by the pallet may become more of a challenge if the recycleable drum becomes law. These things are being floated right now to do away with single use / non-refill refrigerant drums. They want to be able to track all the drums rumbling around in the back of your service truck / van. Enter even more higher prices, because then you have to take the drums back (probably evactuated if I had to guess) to exchange for a new refrigerant drum. If / when this takes effect --- well I doubt there will be any who say it was a good idea. Stay tuned... the video segments are only getting started. I've developed a page on my website to keep all this info nice and tidy....See MoreWhat's for Dinner #409 Winter 2024
Comments (100)The seafood cakes look amazing, sleevendog, I'd like those a lot, I think. Neely, I'm not a huge pizza fan, but I eat the ham and pineapple version occasionally, causing great consternation to my daughter's in-laws who are of Italian descent, LOL. My fried rice today isn't nearly as pretty as any of sleevendog's, and I made it with leftover brown rice from an earlier meal that I don't even remember! We did have baked chicken breast earlier this week and it was as boring as it sounds, so I tossed that in the fried rice too, along with some onion, red carrot and snow peas. Roasted some golden beets and white sweet potatoes, which Elery likes better than the orange ones. And then, of course, I didn't take a picture. (sigh) I did go grocery shopping with Amanda yesterday and our local Meijer sells items made at a fancy Italian restaurant in Grand Rapids, Noto's. They had Italian Cream Cake, only $7.00. A slice. Yeah, at the restaurant it costs $10 a slice! So, I did what I usually do, I rolled my eyes at someone paying $7 for one single piece of cake at Meijer, not even a wedding or special occasion, went home and made an Italian Cream Cake. Comments (57)To be honest, I've not gotten a good crop of "vit" before either. Probably needs a container home. I've never grown salsify before. I bought seeds once but I think I found they aren't viable for long...like parsnips. I did grow parsnips a couple of years, but the last time they had bumps all over them which i decided was root knot nematode. I grew rooted parsley with the parsnips and I really liked that. The parsley leaves are slightly stronger tasting than annual parsley, but the root is good roasted or in soup. It tastes Iike parsley. i plan to put the salsify in a bag or container. The Rapunzel listed in with the turnips on my list is another odd ball root crop i got suckered into, lol. I'm going to post this before i loose it, but I'll come back with a link to it. https://www.farmacieisolde.com/curiosities/rapunzel...See MoreHealthy Lifestyle Progress - Week of 2/18/2024
Comments (24)After watching a bunch of videos thrown my way of people who have lost large amounts in shortish time periods, I realize even with the occasional loss (and that is ALL I have been seeing for the last year), I need to get more serious. I am not looking to do anything extreme for quick weight loss-- it's not healthy or sustainable for me-- but I do need to make some serious adjustments. I too easily let myself veer off path and choose something that is less than healthy because of time constraints or just because I WANT them. I did track most days this week ... even the day I had nothing but 2 packs of ramen and a snack pack of fig newtons. That hurt :( but it also made me realize that I am too easily swayed and sabotaged by my own self. I can't sit and whine that I am making no progress when I am not putting in the effort. I have been mostly talk and no walk for the last year. I sat down this morning and recommitted to a healthier lifestyle every single day. It isn't going to happen just because I want it to. I told my team earlier this week, we are not going to successfully hit our targets unless we make changes TODAY. With that in mind, I have identified 3 things that I can easily change starting TODAY: Return to and stick to intermittent fasting (this will start tomorrow because I already had a large orange before 10am). NO chips, pretzels, pizza or any high calorie/low value indulgences for any reason until my birthday in April. get outside and active at least 3x a week - could be a walk, jumping rope or yard work. Must be outside and active. I'd like to increase this # but for now, 3x will require effort to be successful. It's important to me that my changes are easily achievable with effort and without stress/anxiety. I am fully aware that I have said these words before lol ... but I am committing to them. I have a few trips coming up in April/May and that will be my motivation but in case that is not enough, I am budgeting/earmarking funds I will make available only if I stick to the above from now to mid April. If I do, I will purchase some items for my trips and have extra money to spend on them. It may seem silly lol ... but these are things that motivate me. I gotta go with what works!...See Moresleevendog (5a NY 6aNYC NL CA)
