I want to mix things up in my flat.

Hey everyone we planned on moving but after we considered the drama of it all we decided to stay in our current apartment but I am a little bored. so I have the urge to paint a third wall haha. before I do that I was wondering how else I can switch things up.

I am quite bored with our bedroom the one with glass side tables too.

It depends at the moment I would like to change something so I don't feel like I am living in the same flat I have been in for the last 3 years...

Not to be a smart-alec, but the good thing about your trees is that they are all very different, so when any of them have mature fruit you will know which it is very easily. Now, if you had 3 varieties of mandarins that all fruit in the same season... that might be trouble. ;) I can't promise that this will help, but posting a few pictures by... 1- taking them 2- uploading them to photobucket or another picture site 3- posting them here using standard html code for embedding images OR by posting a link to the image might help us a little. If nothing else, we'd get to see your trees, and everyone here loves pictures. :) To be honest, some citrus trees are just hard if not impossible to tell apart by looking at leaves alone. You'll know eventually, though! *** P.S. I got two of mine all mixed up once. Took me quite a while to remember which was which. These days I can tell them apart at a glance, but that's because I know what each individual plant looks like, not each type!

Kd How about what plant likes rather than your liking? sort of kidding...but really, if plant likes it, it is usually much easier on the grower. I do agree with you on mix looking good - so much nicer to look at than just plain soil or peat :)

@cactusmcharris - I agree, I fell in love the moment I got it! I had to order it from California (General Pumice Products, love them!) @breathnez In my arsenal I have: 3/16" pumice, Gran-I-Grit Grower, Reptibark, sifted through a 1/4 inch screen, Turface Pro League, Lambert perlite (great size, no powder), and sifted river rock from my property, various sizes from gritty sand to small stones, sorted. Depending on the plant is what combination I go with. (For example, Lithops get straight pumice, others get grit, pumice, turface, just depends plus I experiment a lot) Today I was planning on going back to Al's recipe for my new haws since didn't want them to be a science experiment! I originally stopped using bark in my gritty mix since A: its expensive B: It's a pain to sort, and C: I found myself not wanting to use it all up too quickly because of the aforementioned reasons (it's kinda like having fine China but never wanting to eat off of it) I figured the haws deserved it. So this afternoon I "accidentally" mixed together bark, pumice, and turface then realized I meant to use grit (and not the pumice) so I came here to ask about it (and you guys are really awesome, thank you!). @Rina I will post a pic of my mix tomorrow since its dark :) (Nice to "meet" you, I've learned so much from you and your posts!) In the meantime, here's everything new I got! (Dupes will go towards a giveaway) I don't need 10 split rocks - or do I? ha! Mostly for a review/tutorial/DIY blog post and a 6" baby toes (both my Frithia Pulchra and Fenestraria are so tiny in comparison!) OH, and a boat load of new TC pots from dollar tree.

I think I need to understand exactly what you want to do. I see a tone of clutter so maybe just a good declutter is all you need .You show 2 bedrooms are they both in this change? New bedding for sure . Across from the fridge a laong sofa type table put the 2 stools under there and get rid of the cluttered table on the LR wall.

Here are some suggestions, mainly adding a couple great thrifted single pieces instead of having so many small scattered pieces around your space.

Living room:

--The accent wall you have for the TV is great, but no more accent walls in the living room area. One is enough. However, you might want to consider running the shelving on that accent wall all the way across to corral a lot of little stuff lying around the room.

--If your plants are alive, move them closer to the windows. If they're fake, get rid of them for a cleaner look. Not every blank space needs to be filled and you have a lot of random fake/real plants scattered around that just fill up space.

--Get a real pendant over the dining/crafts table. Check thrift shops, Facebook Marketplace, etc. for a great wide sideboard for your dining area. Put all your crafts materials in there, and put your painting over it. Then rehome little tables, cabinets, etc. for one great piece.

--Bedroom with tall headboard. You could do an accent wall here and add an interesting rug below the bed for softness, pattern, and interest. Add a patterned throw on the bed coordinated with whatever accent wall you do. Your clear nightables are fine, but if you find a couple interesting, functional thrifted side tables in wood then upgrade the night tables.

Consider running bookshelves under the window for your plants, books, family photos. The room is bland right now and needs to be personalized.
