You might try calling or e-mailing Burling at Burlington roses to see whether she would root one for you. She can root just about anything and if she has a mother plant it's very possible she'll help you out. I know she rooted a bunch of Annie Laurie McDonnell climbing roses (I have one of them) for interested buyers and had a waiting list for this rose before too long. The same thing could happen with the very desirable Cl. Lady Hillingdon. Judging by the size of the one described by Rogue Valley Nursery, I have the feeling that they have the climbing one too. Cl. Lady Hillingdon did beautifully in a previous also warm/hot garden and I have a young plant now which is bushy pretty much from the ground up, and I also seem to remember my previous one being bushier than the Reve d'Or that I had until recently. It was against a hot wall and was slowly perishing, but I would say it had a more open spreading habit than Cl. Lady Hillingdon. I love the colors on both but I would say Reve d'Or has a more subtle, muted shade.

Against a wall it will be very easy to espalier cl. Lady Hillindon' and thus reduce the size by c. 50%, just prune it vertically instead of horizontally. If you've never done this before I find it is most easily done if I picture in my mind a wall coming closer to the plant, for my Teas that is c. 4 and 1/2 feet outwards, (from the real wall in back of it) and then removing any growth outside that imaginary wall. Dozens of Old Garden Tea's of this size are kept at c. 6 feet tall by 6 feet wide, but only c. 4 and 1/2 feet from a stone wall on outwards, at a local public Old Rose garden. I'll see Luanne tomorrow, ( I pick roses with her on Thursdays) and mention your request, that Mac of hers really is something, and she has made a sublime plant out of Reve d'Or' by espaliering it against a garden shed, and also removing the bottom canes from the ground level to c. 4 feet, to open the view to show the companion plants and smaller rosebushes below it. Rosefolly.... yes I ought to appreciate that too, about the repeating aspect, it's just I find it a rather coarse plant overall, when not in bloom, very bare at the base, so I grow things around it for camouflage. That's why I wish it bloomed more frequently after the first flush. I could add a clematis but don't want to do that. It also blooms earlier than most of my other roses, so it's been a tricky one to find companion plants that won't be eaten by slugs in May [my garden is a haven for them]. Foxgloves have come to my rescue on that one. I've noticed the colour seems to bleach out a bit in hotter areas than mine, so I take that as a bonus. I didn't know it was David Stone's favourite, he had so many to choose from, and huge walls to grow them on. I'm trying something different and it remains to be seen if it works out or not [training it width ways, rather than up - it's a struggle]...
