Who's mistake is this and best way to fix?
Comments (10)july.....most folks don't have pots that tall!! That sounds like it might be commercial type pot. There is no way you'll be able to look straight down into these pots on the rear without getting ya glasses or contacts or eyes fogged over....:( Did you tell the KD about this? If you did(and asked the same questions you have here) then the KD is at fault. If you 'have' to be able to see straight down in these pots in the rear, the builder can change out just those cabinets above this area with shorter cabs and it shouldn't cost that much......but you will probably have to pay for this. If the hole in the brick is not in the correct place, since this is new construction, a brick masson can fix that very easy and you won't notice it. Maybe an hours work at most. You say you are building with a 'mass' builder. If you change those cabinets out, they can probably use them in another house to save you some money....See MoreWhat would be the best way to fix this concrete entry way
Comments (0)We have a contemporary house, the entry and steps and the patio/deck are concrete. We would like it to match the house style, but the finish is terrible, uneven and not square/plumbed. (See phots). What would be the best way to re-finish it? (We are in Northern California, so no freeze problems.) Thanks in advance for all suggestions. Comments (10)I think solid lumber would be much stronger than plywood in this application-- in plywood half the grain is running the wrong direction. I'd save this by cutting a tight fitting mortise-- a square hole-- in the end of the stretcher where it broke off, probably 4" deep then make a new "slip" tenon that would be glued into the mortise and function just as the old one did. It's a bit awkward to do that in the end of a long board, but not too bad. I'd drill out most of the waste using a small forstner bit in a hand drill then square up and fit the sides with a mortise chisel. This is not a situation where you want to rely on either glue or mechanical fasteners. A well-fitted wood joint will be pretty much as strong as the original. (The original tenon looks slightly under-sized to me, i'd have made it a tad bigger.)...See MoreBest way to fix this peeling on my ceiling?
Comments (1)I guess, you could try that. It appears the drywall tape is letting loose. The best plan would be to get that seamed retaped, and get the ceiling texture matched. Is there a leak or moisture in that area? Something has caused that problem....See MoreLinda King
