one daylily and other spring flowers

We are seeing some progress. Begin with a Bang and Vader's Choice both have scapes as does a diploid seedling that always blooms early. Dumortieri and minor are in bloom now. Here is dumortieri.

Our two peonies are in bloom. I don't know the names. The first one is new to the garden and produced only one bloom, but what a bloom! The second one is a pretty color but it doesn't last long.

Lots of irises are blooming now. I don't know the names of the first three.

This one was sold as Apricot Frosty, but it is not. Bob likes the color (as you might imagine).

The last two are intermediate bearded iris. The first one is Breakfast in Bed.

This one is Dolce.

Love the colors of your Iriises. The peonies are pretty too. Yellow dayliies are always a favorite for me. Great pop of color.

If you are going to divide them into individual plants, that will be a bigger shock to them. You will still probably get some bloom. You will get more bloom by dividing into quarters. The sooner you can do it, the better the plant will be I think. It all depends on the plant. I have a few daylilies that I have to cut completely apart, & they can get stressed. Most I can wiggle the roots apart pretty easily & if I'm careful they aren't stressed to much & recover nicely.

Nancy-ditto on loving spring!! I do like your double flowering quince. Mine are single flowering and almost gone. That color is beautiful. Being in the south, almost all daffodils are gone except for the late bloomers. Iris have begun and are in full swing. Killer frost got many bloomers but daylilies have scapes springing up and blooms will be here shortly. That cactus is stunning also. Just give me color now and I am smiling!! Kate

The Iris take the prize. I just wish they bloomed later. Right now I'm so busy stuffing another plant into a pot that I don't have time to fully appreciate them.....I smelled one at a nursery the other day that was so fragrant. I forget sometimes just how powerful that scent can be..........Maryl

Nice iris. The blue and white plicata may be Stepping OUt. I also like the faux Apricot Frosty.

My iris are almost finished. My only complaint about iris. I get way more complements on my iris than my daylilies, but I like to see results that last longer for all the weeding they need. Still, I can't seem to let them go, they are beautiful while they are here.
