UPDATE: Birthday Extravaganza Birthday Buddies for April
Comments (146)Hey April Birthdays -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ALL! I hope you are enjoying your month. And best of all, the month isn't over and at least one of us still needs to get some out yet! That would be me :) Alwaysagarden, could you drop me an email with addresses? Or someone. I remember getting an email that said to save it and um, well, I failed. I have kinda been a bit lost. I've been working full time for 3 months now and job will probably last another 2 months at least. I'm not used to full time. It puts a big cramp in my old routine! I love part time where there was actually time for email, internet, hobbies! And now garden time is approaching FAST! I recently found a fantastic variety of commercial seeds which surprized me -- at a local feed store! I can't wait to get back there! And I really feel a deep NEED to spend some time at the nurseries in town!!! And this job is depriving me of my addiction! Actually I'm just kidding. So glad to have the job to have the money to spend. Anyway, I haven't posted much but you April birthdays are on my mind and will do what i can soon....See MoreUPDATE: April - Garden Circle Exchange Ring
Comments (70)Gorgeous flowers Sandlapper/Jeanne! I especially like the purple one. I want to say thanks to my pal, Pastvast/Stephanie! I received a package over the weekend with some really cool surprises! First, Trilliums. Love them! I've really been needing to expand my shade garden beyond the basics and these give me a good start. And second, Skittles. Love them also! I've almost eaten all of them already, I just can't keep my hand out of that bag. Perfect timing too, I just ran out of 3 Musketeers minis so now I've got something new to snack on. And last but not least, Stephanie sent one of her wonderful letters. I really enjoy them and the updates on your life. And you have to keep me updated on that bundle of joy you're expecting! I have no kids myself, really don't want any, but I like to hear about and spoil everyone else's! Thanks again, Stephanie. Both Sandlapper/Jeanne and Pastvast/Stephanie, I want to apologize for being such an e-mail flake lately. I've been so swamped with home projects that I'm not getting much else done. And the last 2 weeks have been especially bad with replacing the deck. But the deck is almost finished (Yeah!) so you'll both be hearing from me soon. :-)...See MoreUPDATE: april obf fun month
Comments (150)hi everyone, hope all is well. so much is in bloom, day by day, seems minute by minute too. such a glorious sight, isn't it? my azaleas are just beginning to bud and the dogwood is almost there. the trees that kill me are saucer magnolias. they are gorgeous, smell incredible and then make such a mess in each of their phases. the carol, that's one complicated puzzle you got going. the only thing i know are jack russell terriers. tya or something is one of the dog's name. the only granddaughter's name i can think of is clarissa. so if anyone knows any other parts of carol's 18 part question (LOL), add to it. i did a full day of yard work yesterday. i wanted to spend today out there, but the weather wasn't the greatest and then company showed up, so that saved my aching bones. i lost quite a few plants this year. maybe someone's trying to tell me i have too many as it is. i dug up so much last year and planted in containers/pots, maybe that was the problem. hopefully the ones that really need replacing, i'll be able to trade for - they came from my baby's dedication bed. new amy, are you talking seeds you have to trade, or those particular plants? theresa, sorry to hear about your surgery, hope everything went well. i don't think i ever experienced a spinal headache and sounds like something i hope i never do. i sure hope that has subsisded. jeanne, sorry to hear you aren't feeling too well. how nice that you won a little "pick me up". when carol completes her games, i'll start one. be well maryanne...See Moreupdate: mnf april's fool robins flying!

To celebrate mother's day I went to the plant delight nursery open house today. Their display gardens are so pretty! I wish I could have had more time to stroll the gardens, but my 5 year old was ready to go 15 minutes after we got there :0( They had such an awesome selection of plants for purchase, but they're not really what I would call affortable you know. So I ended up only getting a canna pink sunburst and canna panache. I'm very excited about them both! Then on my way back home, I decided to stop by a nursery near by and found a ginger Dr Moy, canna orange punch and a dark leaf pink double flowering begonia. So I think I've already had a good mother's day no breakfast in bed required :0) Have a good weekend everyone!! Monica...See More
