Post the long model # from the tag on the rear of the deck. It sounds as tho fro, the noise that either the transmission is jumping hard enough to hit the housin g or it is getting bound up inside- which is why I'm sure you serviced it. It may be time...

I tried both and I find the rear-drive very awkward and very difficult while pivoting the mower to the other direction. With front-drive, all I do is raise the front and quickly turn the mower to the other direction. My target is to quickly and efficiently mow my lawn and not tinker with the clutch at all; who wants that? With rear-drive, I have to disengage every time when I need to turn directions ... making my expensive mower a push mower during the attempt and tremendously slowing my momentum ... and of course, I have to engage again to move forward. If you have the mower on fast while doing this, you will find yourself fighting the mower every time you want to start on the new direction. You are not controlling the mower, its controlling you. Think about it, being able to raise the front wheels will allow you to turn the mower on 2 wheels; that is turning on a dime. If you have 4 wheels, you are going to make several small movements to realign your mower to the new direction while stroking your clutch on every attempt. IÂm returning my rear-drive today for a front-wheel drive.

It may be that your gearbox/transmissions 3rd gear is stripped. Does this only happen in 3rd gear? It may also be your clutch.

I still love this one, weird as it is (the spray hose lies atop the gooseneck, and the neck itself has a sort of channel (for lack of a better word) on or in which the hose rests and blends in like a chameleon. When you want to use the hose you just pull it down from the nozzle clip (again, for lack of the proper word) and you're free to roam around the sink with it. When you're done, you just place it back over the neck and clip snap it back into place at the nozzle area (the nozzle is part of the hose so hose and faucet are one in the same). Sounds crazy but I've used the floor model of the bridge style deck-mounted 10" one and it was FUN to use and looked and felt very high-quality. It's solid stainless steel and made of replaceable parts. I.e. if you got tired of the hose version you could just replace the gooseneck with a standard gooseneck. The polished stainless steel looks like a cross between polished chrome and polished nickel because it's warmer than chrome (not so blue) but not as yellow as nickel. Not sure I'll get it though cause I want a wall-mounted one and I think the wall-mounted sizes are either too big or too small for my space. :( We'll see... They also have the shorter 8" version (14 3/4" high) and they also have the traditional deck-mounted bridge style in a couple of sizes as well as the wall ones and mono blocks (click on Steam Valve Originals once in there to see everything).
