Wanted: Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Snow Flurry' information
Comments (45)this post.. is a nomenclature nightmare ... lol ... NJ ... plant tissue transpires... gives off water ... sweats .... white tissue gives off more water.. than the plant can process.. hence it burns ... i also like to think of chloropyll as sun tan lotion .... no green.. no pf 60 .. lol ... two NONSCIENTIFIC explanations for why white .. and yellow tissue can burn ... the best siting for such.. is NO SUN IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY ... when they would sweat most ... and water is usually not available ... also ... some plants .... in some zones can handle it.. because cool nights give them time to recover ... the hotter your nights are.. the worse it will be ... aljo.. conifers are trees.. they NEVER stop growing.. at some magical height ... they have an annual growth rate.. and will grow at the rate for decades ... once established... ALL size estimates are at 10 years ... and you can presume.. at 20... they will be twice as big ... ken...See MoreMetasequoia glyptostroboides 'Little Giant'

Comments (10)$25 is a good price. $35 seams to be the going rate for a 1 gal from the good online sources. I've often got what I payed for and bought cheap before. I bought a small 'Ogon' last summer for $40 at Bob Iiames's Garden Fair to replace my big one that got eaten by bark beetle. It's worth every penny in my opinion. They grow like rockets. My last one, once established, would often shoot up 4 feet a year. Get one! RIP Ogon 2014...See MoreMetasequoia glyptostroboides 'Ogon'
Comments (15)I found a M.g. "Kool's Gold" on ebay a couple of years ago. It was a "stick" of about 8"; it's over 4' tall now. Kool's Gold is considered superior to Ogon/Gold Rush because it doesn't sunburn nearly as easily, and in my yard it's a brighter yellow. If you have an ebay account you might set up a "search and notify" for both cultivars and you'll know as soon as someone lists them. If I can find the seller that I bought mine from I 'll come back and let you know. John...See MoreBillMN-z-2-3-4
