Pottery Barn Train (Towel) Rack - Worth the Splurge?
Comments (11)Thank you so much! That is the original floor tile from 1939 but the rest of the tile, including the border, is new. It's about 45 inches from the top of the tank to the shelf. Your decision might also depend on where your rack is going....obviously no one is walking by ours, it's not near the entrance to the room, etc. So really, we just had to factor in standing in front of it. You may have other considerations like walking past it to get in the bathroom or the shower or whatever. Also, our toilet has an elongated bowl, so it sticks out a little further than a round bowl, so you're standing a tiny bit father away from the towels, rack etc. I think if it fits in your space you should definitely get it! :-)...See MoreBrass hinges turned...silver?
Comments (8)I could replace them with $2 hinges, actually, I'm just a) being cheap, b) trying to avoid waste, and c) hoping to avoid filling & redrilling, after already having to fill holes with a change in cabinet knobs. It would just involve one hole, which is better than it could be...until you multiply it by 2 hinges and 20 doors, and I haven't even started changing out knobs & pulls on the lower cabs yet. Plus, the cabinets are primed already. Hmm. I might try looking another place to see if I can find cheap hinges that wouldn't involve new holes, but otherwise, I think I can live with a short-term fix, either clear-coating them all with Rustoleum or putting them on as-is and seeing how they wear like fori suggested. Thanks for the input everyone! At least I have an idea of what they are now and know to keep expectations low. ;)...See MoreReplacing cabinet hardware
Comments (3)Jeffrey Alexander pulls are really nice, without being a huge budget item. They also let you order up to 3 samples (you pay $5 shipping & they give you a $5 coupon). Their website also lets you search by your hole spacing so you won't be tempted by options that won't work. I would check them out - they are a step up from some of the big box stores without being hugely expensive....See MorePrimary Bath Help
Comments (26)Select the art and then select the paint. And get samples of the actual paint options and tape up next to said art. That is the process. As for new mirrors - why are you looking at ones w black trim (I’d save the money as those aren’t decidedly different and won’t change the overall look) - if anything you will be creating a domino effect and will then want to redo the lighting as those new mirror shapes aren’t great with your existing strip light....See Morejck910
