There are many qualified people in this country to do the job Timothy Geitner is nominated for. There are also many people who are honest and pay their taxes, never intentionally making a mistake when filing. My H and I are included. We work hard, and pay what we owe. If it's good enough for us, it's good enough for everyone. People who want high profile jobs in the government, need to bother paying their taxes, as they expect us to pay ours. Tim Geitner is not the person for this job, he doesn't handle his own money honestly, I don't want him governing ours, and when I say "ours" I include all Americans. This has nothing to do with the former administration, let's get into the present day, I am looking at the "change" we were all promised and seeing something that should have everyone shaking in their boots. I vote NO on this man, let's find someone who pays their taxes and does not cheat the rest of us. It can be done.

dee -- I emailed you, but I figured out who you meant. The other quotes I received for that sofa are around $2200+-.... that sounds much better. kmcg --- I have seen the chair in person, so I know exactly what you're talking about. It is SMALL. There is no way my husband would fit in the single chair.... The reason I considered the double chair is because we really need something small for in front of our bed. This chair is short enough, yet it would be wide enough for him to sit comfortably. I measured our space again today and I think 34" high is even too tall to look right.... I'm considering the Fulton sofa dee mentioned, but I'm still searching for some options closer to 30" height for the space.... I think the chairs/sofas in the following photo look decent since they aren't (much) taller than the bed... I'm open to other suggestions if anyone thinks differently. :)

It sounds like Timothy could be a problem for you. This is the first I've heard of an issue with viable weed seed in alfalfa pellets. For this specific example of a weed, I believe the healthy St Augustine will easily run this stuff over. Timothy likes to be 10 times taller than a lawn, so when you mow it cuts off the blades and source of life. It grows slower than St Aug and should be no problem.

A bit more on the supposed evils of Burpee, lambasted as "cultural vandals" for deceiving poor Dan Hinkley and running Heronswood into the ground. It turns out that after a few years, Burpee concluded the "experiment" wasn't working and offered to sell the place back to Hinkley and Robert Jones for less than half what they'd been paid for it ($5.5 million). They refused. Apparently they were no longer interested in running Heronswood, and an opportunity to preserve the jobs of its workers was lost (wonder if any of those employees ever shared in the $5.5 million bonanza). So I find it difficult to sympathize with either of the major parties to this mess. Burpee was hoping to cash in on the cachet Heronswood had with gardeners to boost their plant business. Hinkley and his partner got to cash in, which was their right, but it was never a realistic expectation that a specialty place like that appealing to a limited group of devotees could ever be "taken national" (if that stated goal of Hinkley's ever existed). Too bad it didn't work out (in its last years before the sale to Burpee I'd noticed that Heronswood's offerings for some perennials I coveted had been markedly scaled back, for instance its once-massive selection of asters.
