gold bathroom faucets and gold trim around shower
Comments (37)As others have posted, get rid of the toilet seat cover and any other "cute" stuff that makes it seem "grandma" - meaning no disrespect to grandmas who can be stylish. Any towels should be very modern and hotel/spa in feel. Make sure everything is clean clean and more clean. Investing in a professional cleaner for all areas in the house is money well spent. Otherwise leave it as be because remodeling a bathroom for sale is a slippery slope and given that your bathroom tile is lovely and the fixtures look well with it, I doubt very much that a serious prospective buyer is going to reject the home based on it having "gold" fixtures. I just finished a remodel of bathrooms and my bathroom style is completely unlike this bathroom. However, if I were in the market for a new home, I wouldn't pass on a home if the bathroom wasn't the style that was my personal favorite so long as it was clean and met my functional needs in terms of having a comfortable shower; adequate storage (hate hate hate pedestal sinks because no place to put things. Your bathroom is a perfectly find bathroom - attractive to most people even if it's not the height of trendiness - but I think most people don't have bathrooms that are the height of trendiness anyway - after all how often do people actually remodel a bathroom - and if you change the color of fixtures - that starts a chain reaction - it's not the same as painting or putting up wallpaper or even changing the sconces or mirrors....See MoreHardware for kitchen, interior doors, and bathroom.
Comments (4)Ours too, seems pre-hung doors mostly come with satin nickel hinges. But I don't care, I love matte black handles. We are going to either replace the hinges with black (cheap on amazon, we've done it before) or spray them black eventually. It'll be on the 75-page list of things to do once we move in haha....See MoreChanging door hinges/knobs - black, nickle or gold & Mixing metals
Comments (1)Well some items do not need to match. IMO door knobs and hinges should match and be consistant through the house .I think the gold thing will go the way of the brass thing so I would do black or since you are a bit traditional. The kitchen I would need to see what you have or what you are planning. Ithink gold faucets will make your choice of faucet more difficult I am still a stainless fan for kitchen sinks and faucets . But I think you could do gold handles and knobs on the cabinets too. When looking fo lighting like pendants above an island i would try to find ones that mix the 2 colors to tie it all together....See MoreBathroom cabinet hardware: please help me choose type and size
Comments (8)I would get some in real life and test them out in person once the cabinets are painted--you can stick them on to see how they look before drilling. We have pulls very similar to Ascendra in our kitchen and I like them a lot, but it just depends on the style you're going for. We opted not to use knobs and just have pulls on both doors and drawers--3.5" ctc throughout. Some people like to vary the sizes based on the drawer sizes, but with your vanity I don't think I would. Our new bathroom vanity came with hardware that is 5.25" ctc on tiny drawers. I didn't love the size initially--we didn't get to choose it since it came pre-drilled--but it's growing on me....See Moreshimmerandshine
