Paint fireplace brick?
Comments (4)I wouldn't paint it. It's a relatively neutral color brick as it is. If you don't have success with your scrub down, call a masonry company to send someone out. They have brick cleaning solutions that may work better. You could also jazz it up a bit with a new mantel....See MorePainted fireplace and wall color
Comments (6)Most of the above for sure and that piano is in the worst place possible .I would add some color to the space with a new rug for sure , posting some pics of the whole space would be helpful and please get 2 drapery panels for that window or a roman shade that just looks silly. I don’t see a problem with the fireplace and the walls....See MorePaint fireplace?
Comments (15)I also have a large brick fireplace similar to yours. I debated painting and staining mine as well as it darkens my already north facing room, however I know styles change and paint may look "dated" in the future and I may change my mind. My plan is to add nice white paneling above it to lighten things up. And in the future, if it becomes "out of style," I can hopefully remove the paneling and only have some tuck pointing to fix. That's my plan anyway....just thought I'd share an alternative....See MorePaint fireplace white or leave it alone?
Comments (16)Here are more pictures. Excuse the mess in the kitchen, I moved a lot of little things out of the room. I appreciate the advice of placement of TV and stand. We’re going to put in vinyl plank flooring, a brownish tone, in the kitchen. The kitchen is going to be remodeled with white cabinets, etc. as well as the same color flooring going to the stairs etc. Should we rip up the engineered hardwood in the dining room (see picture) or should we leave it? (as there is a transition piece). Would it be strange to have carpeting in the living room, vinyl plank flooring in the kitchen and a different color floor in the dining room? (there is s also another living space attached to the dining room)I’m not sure we’re going to live in this house forever so I want to make sure I give it as much selling power as I can in case we move someday. Also, we’re going to change all the molding to white....See Morekculbers
