Please help me pull this pulled from dumpsters' bedroom together
Comments (21)Greywings, I have been coveting glass lamps lately so that is a great place to see if a small change would help! Jrueter, that looks great! I will show DH for all I could find last night were white washed walls. Thanks Grandmaof3, Accents are a great idea too. I will be honest I would love to like the room with just a change of paint color and a few small accents! Nosoccermom, I love the pics you posted and the natural pine is soooo lovely. I think mine might take a bit of sanding but I can try on the smaller pieces first! I already have an eggplant hall and navy guest bedroom abutting this room:( Maybe I will change the guest to grey and use the navy here! I am going to try a few paint samples on sat. to try and find a paint color first and after that if the pine pieces still make me say meh I will than decide how to change them out. Would a blue grey work the present comforter has dark grey with silver and robins egg accents. But I was afraid that a light blue might bring even more yellow undertones out of the wood. Thanks again!...See MorePulling the Living Room Together, Ideas please...
Comments (20)Update: We removed the round table/chairs. It helps much with making the room entry friendly instead of a "gated" feeling. The pianist in the family loves the piano where it is, and it makes us less anxious that it might be in the wrong place with the table removed. Here's some photos now of the edit. I would like any suggestions of what goes on that small wall between the slider and window now. We were thinking a small console type table as a landing spot, but thought of one cozy chair too, I just don't know. Maybe just a large art piece on the wall and leave the floor area open? Thanks so much Susan and Lindsey for checking back and your suggestions! Lindsey, I think you're right about "browning" up the stair skirt and carpet so it kind of disappears, and I did paint the interior walls of it off white because the previous owner had a darker color on the walls and it felt cave like. I'm thinking of finding a berber that comes in different colors and going with a lighter one for the area rug (with binding) and the same rug but darker for the stairs. (yeah! your suggestion!)...See MorePlease help pull this modern look together, with this art
Comments (13)Casals- yes, we have to hang the pastel on the only free wall we haves and yes the piano is there too.It is indeed the short leg of the sectional. . That particular wall csnt fit the long part of the sectional. . i know it isn’t ideal to have the piano on the wall with any part of the sectional and it’s all jammed together but I inherited the piano from my mother and it fills me with nostalgia. Also, I do love to play piano. We did try to find 2 couches but nothing looked or felt right. Most had backs that were too high. Or they didn’t fit our budget. And my spouse wanted a sectional anyway ...so there was that. Compromise. I can’t find another space for the sectional. in our house.. So I think we’ll just have to work with that reality, as imperfect as it may be. . There is a counter with contemporary revolving bar stools in front of the remaining wall - which i didn’t show. It’s basically there for entertaining. There are built- in shelves on the wall. There is a piece of wall space on the east wall ( the one with the longest part of the sectional) where we could hang the small portrait ( of my mother), The walls are stained but the wood would absorb another stain as it is essentially raw wood with a bit of color . It doesn’t have a finish that would reject a stain. I tested a small , not noticeable , portion with a light stain and it was quickly absorbed. . So should we stain the walls a different color? They do lean more towards beige although there are hints of grey that I couldn’t capture with my camera. The other colors in my photo are accurate....See Moreplease help me pull my room together, decor and furniture.
Comments (134)@homeinteriorswithease- update, I have purchased a new chair. I need a second opinion. It feels too small. The tending chairs are lower and I thought I would like it bc it swivels. But seeing it in the space I am worried it looks too small. What do you think? I wanted to get a smaller chair first to determine what width of nightstands I could get (24,26 or 30 wide)....See Moreptreckel
