Comments (7)Lisa, do you have any pictures of your various elements, together or separately? That would be helpful. I would have no problem using marble in a bathroom, since I have it on my island, but for most people who expect a "bulletproof" surface, the etching and possible staining will come as an unpleasant, unacceptable surprise....See Moresuggestion for a white paint color for a shiplap accent wall

Comments (10)why don't you do the shiplap yourself? it's not difficult at all. plenty of how-to's online. as for what a price would be, there is no way we can answer this. prices vary from region to region. ditto for wallpaper. we don't know how it's attached. some come off very easily, others do not. And that is really a DIY that you should do since it's time consuming and you pay people for their time. spend a weekend peeling off the paper, or looking at how to cut the shiplap. (and you can use regular pine tongue and groove as opposed to shiplap. (make sure to prime it first w/oil base primer or shellac) call in someone else for the ceiling. I wouldn't bother w/the tray since it's so narrow. do the entire thing or just forget it. How were you going to raise that ceiling? wouldn't you be raising the entire ceiling on that floor?...See MoreHow do I paint over pre-painted MDF shiplap?
Comments (19)Are you suggesting we prime the pre-primed mdf? Best practice wisdom is that primed surfaces should be top coated within a given time frame. Usually within two weeks if primed with an oil based product and w/in 30 days for latex products. Primers tend to loose 'tooth' with time. When you purchase a pre-primed product you are all but sure that the ideal window for top coating has elapsed. You also can assume that a top notch priming product was not used. So, yes I would re-prime pre-primed MDF using an oil base primer. Better yet is to avoid pre-primed products in the first place....See MoreT Soho
