Texensis and Jackmanii in love?
Comments (7)Hi ladybutterfly You know these two ladies are both wonderful I really love Princess Diana she takes a little longer to grow but well worth the wait. Princess Di has really cool stems they are kind of dark red and I would say the flowers are a little darker than the flowers of the duchess.Duchess of Albany flowers more and grows faster than Princess Diana so that is cool if you want a plant thats going to mature faster and give you a few more blooms but I think if I had to choose one it would be Princess Diana.I also want to thank bob for the info on the pics that will help...See MoreOld Jackmanii or New Jackmanii 'Superba'???
Comments (5)I agree with you, Superba seems to have more red in it and therefore is more purple and less blue. I prefer the bluer x Jackmanii, and also like that most of its flower have only four sepals - would others agree that Superba tends to have more flowers with five or six? I think the cross pattern the four-sepalled x Jackmanii makes is lovely in its simplicity and rather distinctive. Having said that, I’m here because I could never be sure if these differences I perceive between the two forms are constant....See MoreJackmanii Superba taller than trellis
Comments (3)I had the same problem with my first year Ernest Markham, last summer. It easily outgrew the trellis, so I took some fishing line and tied several strands from the top of the trellis up to the soffit above. I tied lots of knots into the fishing line, so the clematis would have something to grab onto, otherwise it would just slide down the fishing line. It worked pretty well as a temporary fix. This is the trellis I'm talking about. Thats the Ernest Markham on the left, Niobe on the right. I've since moved the E.M., and now Niobe has the whole trellis to itself....See MoreKitchenaid superba wall oven odor
Comments (0)I have noticed that the past few times that I have turned on my Kitchenaid oven, which is about 3 years old, it starts to emanate an odor that is strangely "industrial". By that I mean chemical or metallic, but definitely not food. Is there anyone who has experienced this or could tell me what this might be? I continue to use the oven but am becoming somewhat fearful about it. Thanks for your help...See Moreerasmus_gw
