Comments (7)I just stumbled onto this thread. I have two of this exact same plant - also "volunteers" in a landscaped bed. There are at least 6 large fruit like the one you have pictured. We harvested one early and cut it open - it's definitely a squash. I think it's some sort of winter squash, or a hybrid of squash and pumpkin? We haven't tasted it yet. I see it's been 2 years since the last comment. Did you learn any more?...See MorePlease ID these pumpkins and squash
Comments (0)Hi guys, I got these from the market and over here in Ghana they are all known as pumpkin or squash with the colors and shape used for identification. But I would like to know the exacts names. Can anybody please ID these for me? Thank you...See MoreWhat am I? Please help ID a squash.
Comments (7)Looks like an overgrown yellow straighneck to me, too. I expect that the flesh will be on the order of an overgrown zucchini and probably can be used for the same kind of bread... It is not spagetti squash. They have no bumps. That comes from having grown tons of them at one time. OTOH many squash get stringy as they mature or age after harvest; so who knows, still best bet for use would be like for over grown zucchini like I said above. You can google that and get a ton of hits....See Moredaninthedirt (USDA 9a, HZ9, CentTX, Sunset z30, Cfa)
