which plants get 'hilled' and which get black plastic?
Comments (3)I've never used BP before this year, so I'll give you my Z5 experience. New England 'traditional' style: "Hilled" veggies included the squashes, melons, cukes, and Zucchini types. Typical arrangement was a hill about the size of a car tire, and about 6 seeds planted in a circle within the hill. It works. Last year DH poured me a giant 'burm' out of loam & compost mixture for my 'hilled' items, and that worked, too. I planted the same way, just spacing the circled seeds several feet apart along the burm. THIS year I'm doing BP on half of my garden. All of my garden is broken up into squares & rectangles- raised beds (but no structures holding them up...just large square humps.) In the BP areas, I've planted tomatoes, corn, melons (this year they're going up a wire-mesh fence) cukes (also on the fence), beans, squash & zucchini. These all like warm soil, so that's why I'm trying the BP this time. I can only guess that they were using the 'house shingle' thingy for support of their 'raised' hills? Dunno on that one. Hope this is of some use for you....See MoreWhich ebay seller did you get your adenium seeds seeds from?
Comments (48)Hello everyone, I hope someone could provide me some information. 1. Please let me know if all the grafted Adeniums that you have purchased from Rinoa produced the same type of color and shape that were advertised for these plants. 2. How long did they take to flower after you received grafted plants? 3. Anyone had experience with growing from seeds purchased from Mr Ko or Ms Rinoa, please inform seeds from which supplier have a better chance to grow into what are on the pictures. I still love pink flowers but I think if 90% of them would turn pink, then it would be too much. 4. Can anyone comment if the adeniums which turn pink, is it the same kind of pinkish flower, or there is a variety in different form and shade of pink? 5. Was it ok to import grafted plants to the USA? Thank you. Sunny...See MoreWhich patio umbrella color should I get
Comments (6)Nice patio! That appears to be a Sunbrella-like fabric, in which case, the dark blue will be far more resistant to mildew and sun damage than wuld the lighter colors. Get yourself a bottle of https://www.sailrite.com/303-Fabric-Guard-Gallon and get religious about applying it - we do two applications per summer and usually another one sometime in the winter as well. It’s not cheap, but neither is marine grade fabric. We have a 12’x 12’ cantilever umbrella, and it is the bomb....See MoreWhich SW paint to get that's high quality AND no lingering odors??
Comments (18)You have a good eye. Not many would/could pull those two colors as options together. It's reasonable to say that Classic Gray is a desaturated version of Creamy. Obvious to see with chips under a good light source - like outside in indirect sunlight, inside room with moderate to abundant light. The biggest difference is chroma. Classic Gray is less colorful compared to Creamy. Then there's the nominal difference in Value. Creamy is lighter; in part due to the luminance from its greater proportion of yellowness. As far as undertone. "Undertones" are a subjective judgment made under unspecified light sources. Anyone can make up whatever they want about undertones and be right. And they do. This forum consists mostly of baseless opinions about color appearance. There's no way to prove the notion of an undertone wrong or right because they don't exist outside of individual color judgement ---- in a specific context and random quality of light. For example, I could say Classic Gray has plaid undertones. Tartan plaid to be exact and no one could prove me wrong. Objectively, scientifically we know Classic Gray and Creamy belong to the same hue family range. Easily proved using the same system used to make the colors in the first place. You chose them because of how they relate in terms of hue family to the floor. And I don't think it's random you chose these two colors. They both relate to the floor. Lower Chroma Classic Gray will result in more tension and contrast to the floor because it is less colorful. Creamy will be less contrast. Both will work. Just depends on the vibe you're after....See Moregetgoing100_7b_nj
