Repotting runaway oncidium

I was given the tiny piece of this plant you see all the way to the right a number of years ago, and it has since grown many new pseudobulbs and flowered quite a bit. Now I think it's time to repot, but I'm not sure how to approach it. As you can see, it has grown in a linear fashion and overhangs the pot. In its current form it would require a very large pot. Should I break off older portions of the plant and just repot the newest half? It all seems so healthy I hate to do that, but don't see a better option.

Thank you,

Chris
