We were considering this for my Dad’s kitchen but he changed his mind to tile. I really wanted him to do the Taj for the backsplash! While deciding I met with the fabricator to discuss the plan and we worked carefully to avoid any Sean’s in the backsplash. A seam will be more visible and obvious when its vertical. Since you say it’s a small area, hopefully it’ll be easy to accomplish. Just something to keep in mind as you move forward.

Wow the black and soft white w the Taj is going to look amaaaazinggg!! I use black as accents in the kitchen as my center island is a deep Tuscany green and cabs are White Duck. I racked my brains for months looking for backsplash and then I remembered in one of my bathrooms I used this oyster color very elongated subway tile with a soft wave. Went out to my storage to get a few pieces and laid it on there and it was perfect. It was this very soft and neutral greige color. If he’ll go back through my old post you should see pictures of my cabinets Taj Mahal and backsplash as I just cannot remember at this time. after the fact I wish I would’ve brought the Taj all the way up the wall but I’m glad now how it all turned out. I have these countertops and it depends on your color balance. every room should have light, medium, and dark tones. now dark doesnt need to mean black, but the darkesst tone in the room. for yu, it might be your floor or that maybe the lightest as we don't have sample pictures. If your floors are light, I'd recommend darker hardware and accent pieces. everything then would be very light and i would use a midtone (a color between your lightest and darkest piece) that has a bit of yellow or rust to it (though the countertop can be beige, gray, and white with a rust veining, it can also be green. So I recommend picking your exact slab of quartzite, because if you don't, you won't know which you will get. Anyways, my style isnt everyones, but this can give you an idea. The stone on the right has every color in the cabinets, back splash, appliances, and the countertop. So one of these colors, even in a lighter or darker tone, should work. If you can get samples of each piece and create a board for the room, this may also help you select the right color for you and your home.

I strongly recommend you go to local flooring shop. There are so many things to consider. Installation is key to getting good end results. Watch for “variations”. Sometimes called V-rating. Get to see pictures of actual installed product. The repeat patterns can get very stripped or fake looking. Colors need to be seen in person with your samples from all elements in your space.
