If you can lift the entire clump w/o doing much damage to the roots, you may not even need to transplant the foliage. Whenever I have to lift a plant and remove all the dirt from it - YES - trim the foliage, but if you can lift a clump and plop it right down into another freshly dug hole, you shouldn't need to cut back.

The old house isn't under contract yet... that's why I'm being hasty about getting them out asap. I don't want any misconceptions. I dug up approx. 30 or so yesterday afternoon. Fortunatly a pretty good amount of labels were still in the ground so I brushed around them until I found the eyes poking out and snatched them up. Everything was going fine at the begining because I started with the most recent gardens but quickly ran out of big enough pots on the older Hostas. Silly me... I forgot Hostas grow out not down, doh! Some of them really took off since I planted them last spring! I also noticed the ones I received from swaps were more rooted out then the purchased plants planted around the same time. (Note to self: participate in more swaps here!) So far so good but I'm not taking all of them. I'll leave the doubles and some of the Tiara's behind, often when I order they throw in the Tiara's as gifts anyways.

larrylwill, I found Garden Web a little over three years ago because of a larger contractor problem with cabinets that ended up in court. It was nasty. It was costly. It was a time robber. I have been 'almost done' for months. I kept thinking I'd be done before school started back...or before school got out, or before my anniversary, etcetera, etcetera. This forum was such an encouragement and support on those nights when I just could not sleep. I don't know how those people in this life can go around screwing others out of their hard earned money can sleep, but they do. I know the government can, but I mean, individuals that you deal with one on one. You chose them for their talents and skills and they perform for a fee. When they do not perform, but show up, they still believe they command full payment. It's just not right. This business of being in business is not fair or regulated fairly by our courts. I'd much rather the press be free and fair like it should be without fear of true consequences when we are swindled, we can say we were swindled. When we are presented with a bait and switch scheme, then we can say just that without fear of another ongoing court battle about subjective subject matter in the eyes of the court. What is black and white in my eyes are purple polka dots in the courts eyes. When my contract is clear and precise, how can a court deem it clear as mud? I do not get it. There is too much politics in justice and too many idiots on benches. If you have the skills, buy the trim and finish it yourself. Don't pay another cent to anyone but yourself. It looks like a very nice healthy tree other than the leaves are missing. The twigs are green and therefore are producing food for the tree, I would not move it. You can use earth drill on a standard 110 drill and drill a couple of feed down about a foot away from the trunk and farther and fill these hole with compos and mulch around the tree out 4 foot radius to within 6 inches of the trunk. This should propagate and explosion of earth worms and they will do the digging for you. Meyer lemons need a lot of feed. about 1.5 times what other citrus need. Once the roots get established in the clay she should do fine. My guess to dry and very hungry. Water and feed an compost and mulch then give it some time.
