Comments (15)I decided to repot them all into a better mix and better groups last Friday, I didn't want to water them in to a mix that wasn't good to I did a more thorough root cleaning and a better foundation. The jades have their own home now. The semp will spend the winter all alone in a very frosty south window in the basement. I don't know what else to do with it and not sure if it can go outside in my zone over the winter or if I wld have enough time to harden off it off. If it should perish....I plan to redeem myself with a succulent rock garden in it memory. We bought a house last year with a south facing yard and have tons of landscaping rocks on 3 sides and an island of them in the back. We both really, really, don't like all these rocks, but where can we put them all?? Is it a blessing in disguise? After reading so much in the forum I feel like I know you all a little, everyone is so nice and helpful, so I will share another picture of what I have in store for my gardening future. I have so many ideas! My DH is a farmboy in the city so we will have some fun. Mr. B says hi! All the leaves dropped in a week, we had some drought then some snow. I got a fire pit and tree skirts as wedding present from DH. He did it while I was away for the weekend. How do you say, "Thank you, I love you so much and I hate tree skirts? You don't, everyone worked so hard and filled it full of flowers! I hope to use some of that labor for helping in the garden when we get one. Did I mention it faces south? All I will do all winter is research, plan, discuss. 2 year, 5 year, 10 year, etc. I hope to share my progression either here or somewhere on these forums, this IS where the experts are at!...See MoreHow do you find help with a little garden labor?
Comments (10)I'm needing the same thing. Have been wishing I had a gardener for over a year now, since I had back surgery & can't do ground work without standing on my head or moving my stool around every 5 min. Then it's still strain on my back. I love the idea of 'Next Door'. I sent the link to a friend here in our little community to see if she knows people with more computer skills than I have who could start one.. Also am going to check on the Labor Center to see if we have one in Arlington. All we ever see is the groups gathered near the Race Trac or other parking lots. I've known people who use them & had no problems. But I'm just a little cautious. Thanks for the ideas....See MoreI want to do something a little wild, but I'm not sure how.
Comments (0)My son's room is currently yellow on the top and dark blue on the bottom (ceiling is also yellow). I want to paint the ceiling and trim white, three of the walls gray, and the 4th wall with this pattern: Can I use one primer for the whole thing or will I have to use a primer for each separate color tinted in that particular color? Since the wall with the design needs to be painted white so I'll have the white lines in between the squares, will I have to use a white primer on it first and then come back with another primer before I paint the darker colors? Someone mentioned the technique, of painting over the taped off area with the underneath color first, so that if it bleeds it won't matter. I've also heard to take the tape off before the paints dries or else the paint will peel. Well, if I paint over the tape with the underneath color, I will have to wait for it to dry before I can paint with the top color. Won't the paint peel then? Comments (5)Can you return it and get a smaller one? (I admit I think your fireplace wall is lovely and I personally wouldn't ruin it with a television. But I am a tiny minority who has lived without television for almost 30 years.) Is there another room in which to put it, or do you prefer to use this room for watching it?...See MorePalms And Pines
