Comments (15)"Deadly nightshade" is Atropa belladonna. The most common common name for this species in the US is bittersweet nightshade. Contact with molested foliage gives those who are sensitive (like me) a mild rash. Invasive in the US. Few people would cultivate this on purpose, even though the blooms are pretty. And many of those who like it a first year then end up cussing it in later years because of its' aggressive spread. Comments (5)Yes, in case it happens you don't realize it yet the balls and swirls are all the result of pruning and not natural shapes - if you buy and plant any of the swirls somebody that knows how to do it will have to be involved if the swirling is going to be maintained....See MoreAnyone know the name of this plant?
Comments (5)You can probably propagate new plants of it yourself. In winter when it has died back down to the ground, dig it up and break the root clump into two or three pieces and replant them. If you've had it 3 years, it's probably a good time to do it anyway, because in its fourth year it might get overly big and flop outwards leaving an empty center.
