i think you are right, razorback, about the cultivar name. after purchase, i googled it and that is the closest i can come up with. spring foliage is supposed to have pink margins but fade to green as summer progresses and probably should look like mine at this late date. hate to hear about your results with it. you're in an area of lower zone so that does not give me much encouragement but it's in the ground and i'll hope for the best. after reading that, i may move it to an area of total shade instead of the site i selected with a lot or morning sun. i will be happy if the foliage looks good and i get no flowers but even better if it blooms.

Devonfawn, Sometimes people (Danny did it this time) post an unrelated question on the end of a different thread and most people don't even see it. I happened to see Danny's question that was totally unrelated to what the thread was about, and so I answered. The point is that the some of the people who posted on the thread about the near black mini hippies haven't posted in a month of Sundays..so you may not get an answer to your question... you can keep checking though if you want..you never know... Posting an unrelated question on the end of an unrelated topic is NOT a cardinal sin.. but, to resurrect a thread that has been buried for some time is asking for nobody to see your question.. The moral of this story is don't be afraid to start a new topic for a question otherwise most people won't get the gist of what it's about and never see the question and hence, no answer. For some reason folks seem afraid to post new threads..most of us are guilty of this from time to time, myself included... (not to pick on you Danny of course) ;-) Hope someone answers your question...I'd be interested to know too..... Donna

It's gorgeous, Mark! It's one I had bloom for me last year, and I really loved it! I don't know the best words to describe this one, but it's a beauty as far as doubles go! We're a very casual group here, Mark, which I think makes it more fun and enjoyable. I would hate for this to be stiff and all business... it wouldn't feel comfortable. I'm sorry, I do tend to post off topic quite a bit... there are other forums that I avoid purposely because they're too formal, and if anyone posts anything off topic, they get jumped on by the other members. I don't like that way of doing things. I'm not a big shot pro... I'm just a novice, myself, though I have learned a lot and want to share what I've learned. Gardening should be fun, and it's all about sharing, and the passion of what we're growing. But it's more than that... these are real people with real lives and families... it's about life, and nurturing, and helping, and by learning more about each other, we can help more. If all I wanted were the facts, I'd read my books and not belong to this group. I love that this forum is casual and friendly... and I love to see more than just bulbs... It's addicting. I started with 1 from Walmart like ten years ago. Since then my collection has GROWN. I've had more than fifty adult adenium and too many seedlings to count. Just last year I lost several hundred seedlings over the winter. It is definitely time to get a green house.
