You can count me in too Ken. I've been an ACS member for several years and always wanted to attend a National meeting. With the added benefit of touring your garden, and meeting you and so many of the other great folks on this forum, looks like 2012 is going to be the year. Sounds like you've committed yourself to a major garden tour in July. Of course, we'll all need to bring our own favorite cold beverages to enjoy while visiting your garden. Looking forward to it!! Community Plant Exchange September 26, 2004 1:00pm-2:00pm Southeast Ann Arbor Area Park Ellsworth and Platt Roads in Ann Arbor The Neighborhood Coalition of Southeast Ann Arbor is a community-based organization promoting healthy, safe and fun living in southeast Ann Arbor. The Community Plant Exchange is but one of our events. Below are tips to enjoy this fun community event. Participation: Everyone is welcomed to participate. Anything that you feel another gardener may find useful (books, pots, tools, as well as seeds and house and perennial plants), is allowed for trade. If you are new to gardening, this is a fun and inexpensive way to meet fellow gardeners and learn new things! 1) Please set up your exchangeable labeled items on a table, blanket, or even the back of your truck or trunk of your car. By 1:15pm, we will have a short time for everyone to walk around and see what is available. This allows everyone to speak with others who have something that youÂd like to trade. What to Bring: 1) A box to carry home your new plants 2) Plastic bags to safely wrap your new treasures 3) Items youÂd like to share -Plants or seedlings in individual containers (i.e. seed trays or yogurt cups) -Seeds, a minimum of 12 seeds per exchange -Cuttings wrapped in wet paper or in a container -Tubers/rhizomes with at least two Âeyes Remember:  This is a plant exchange. All items are to be offered for trade and not money.  Please label your items. After a while, even a Master Gardener can get confused!  Feel free to bring items you canÂt name. Geeze you guys if I would have thought we could continue this in this particular thread I wouldn't have made the other one in the Gesneriads forum! Ok,,,,,,I guess I will stay here for this. My sinningias are in a closed container. They don't dry out quickly. I check them every so often to make sure they are slightly damp. I have not yet had one go "dormant" . It seems as though they just keep growing in a pile on top of the original tuber and leaves and they have eensy weensy little leaves that never get very big. Could it be that when the flower self polinated instead of seed falling on the soil it just fell down onto the original plant and germinated? And just piled up? I thought the seed would fall down onto the soil and pretty soon I would have a "carpet" of sinningia. I just don't understand the "rock" pile! The one plant that fell out of the cup I bought it in (hey I didn't mean it,,,,,,it was an accident! My old fingers get clumsy at times!) is the one I got all those little baby tubers from. And they sure as heck didn't look like your nice cupful Irina!!!! There was nothing that large. I dunno. They are doing well, but I was just curious as to this "rock pile" effect. After reading this I now know how to handle the tuber if it should go totally dormant. Oh and mine are in an East window. Inquisitive Rosie
