Not to further confuse, but Stylophorum is rather rare in that part of the Chicago region. Chelidonium majus looks very much a smaller version of Stylophorum diphyllum. While I can't tell which it is by the photo, you can separate them easily once they fruit shortly after flowering. Chelidonium majus has a long, smooth fruit with no style while Stylophorum diphyllum has a shorter, bristly fruit with a long style.

With indoor plants I have a temp. problem at different times of the year. I think buds like warm days BUT cooler nights seem to set off pod production. Combined , hot days AND cooler nights seem to work best for MY GROW indoors. An even Temp. , 24-7 seems to suck in general for a lot of varieties(not all). Maybe check out your temps. ,your plant looks happy nute wise. Don't expect all the buds to pod out in those pots.(they look to be 4in). I grow plants indoors for pure seed in 4-4 1/2in pots,then put them out in #15 pots. A plant will only put out the pods it can support. You can get better pod production etc. by adding nutes in your water every time you water. Kinda like Hydroponics. Just make sure you wash the old stuff out when you water(water until your pot has runnoff). Discard runoff water to your lawn etc. Your plant looks like an Apple,Cheese or Cherry Pepper. What is it?

I love white lilacs and free is always the best price! I changed my center bed to a circle and my son gave me a great idea to put a bean teepee in the center. Now I'm not sure what to edge it with. I won't have enough marigold and alyssum but I do have 9 pink/yellow mini roses. (good sale at the food store before Mother's Day.) But, today, I also thought about adding in some globe basil to look like little boxwoods. Or, should I scrap that and just direct sow some dwarf zinnia and sunflower. I also switched from attempting a step-over dwarf pear hedge to installing 4 blueberry bushes to divide the potager from the hop yard. I still would love to try the step-over pears, but unfortunately, only so much time in the weekend and my wallet seems to be filled with receipts instead of dollars at the moment.

It does take two, two different clones. Then if the bees won't transfer the pollen from one to the other, then you will have to be the bee. Hand pollination isn't hard, just take a stamen from one flower and rub the yellow pollen on the stigmas (all three) of the other flower.
