Mexican blue palm (brahea armata) yellowing

Phoenix area - east valley. I've had this palm for about 1 year, planted in May 2020. It has been looking great until the past week. It is in sandy, fast draining but poor soil, and full sun except for the last 2 hours of the day. It was watered 1x per week over last summer, then tapered off to no water all winter. Resumed 1x per month in early April, now back to 1x per week since it is getting hot again (105 yesterday) and fronds have started drooping in between waterings. I fertilized it with palm fertilizer in early May.

The newest full leaf is all green but the others have started to yellow from the centers outward. There are no spots, just yellowing.

Should I be concerned? What might be causing this?

I have a young palm that was really suffering from the heat a couple of years ago, and was turning yellow. Someone told me to give it some epsom salt and water it in well. That perked it up and it bounced right back. Mature fan palms are very heat and drought tolerant, but I think the smaller ones need a bit more water

More water. Young Brahea armata are not as drought tolerant when young. Especially in desert heat.

Thanks guys... I bought it at "Plant World" nursery in Las Vegas. It's a HUGE nursery. I live in extreme northern Utah in a beautiful mountain valley called "Cache Valley". Logan is the largest town in Cache Valley. I live in the bottom of the valley where the coldest air sinks to in winter. I've seen -45 F. before at my home. -30 F. is not that uncommon. -25 F. is quite common. On a warm winter, we're glad to have it drop no lower than -20 F!

Ah- I missed this post!..You got a GREAT start. NO junk palms (oh,you know what I mean),what you have is going to be a garden with strong interest. ALL - fertilize,fertilize,fertilize,with lots of water. To those shocked to read this..lots when young. After that, most of those are moderate and some will be there doing well on drips of water here and there. Don't plant tree's! I wish I never had. Maybe a silk floss. But they just compete with fun plants for water,their shade isn't needed if you have that filtered palm light. They all make a mess. Near 20 years of hard core exotic plantings has taught me that.

They look like they're doing quite well. P. reclinata's look great as a clump. But as they grow big they flop around and you need lots of room for them.
